My camera wont let my upload my pictures to the computer.

I've had my Olympus Fe-280 Camera for 3 years now. I didn't really use it much, but recently I have been. I lost my USB cord so i just ordered another one. While I remember uploading pictures a few years ago I remember that it would pop up and say something about uploading to pc and then you push ok, and they would upload. But this time its not uploading, its not popping up on the computer nor on the camera. Is it my camera? Is it my USB cord? Do i need to get my camera checked? I have no idea what to do with this!

You need to install olympus master 2 driver to your dell laptop then connect your camera using USB to your laptop...I suppose you have these driver and usb connector with your camera package.
OR..
You may use CARD READER if you have, place your memory card into it then connect to your laptop using USB...

turn the camera on so you can reviwe pictures taken

Place a memory stick in the camera. Next, go to MENU, then press BACKUP. This will save your internal images to media card.

My laptop doesnt recognize fe-280 olymous
Unisntall the software that came with the camera and reinstall them. If the computer asks for drivers, insert the cd that came along the camera and install the drivers. Alternately, you can use your laptop's card reader port to transfer pictures. Just take out the memory card from the cam and put it in the card reader slot. Have any questions, write back.

Dull colorless pictures
Have you made any changes to the settings? Check the ISO, picture quality (should be at highest setting), white balance, etc. You could also go into the setup menu and find the "reset" entry to reset back to default factory settings.

Cant upload because computer wont read it
If the installation software provided along with the camera doesnt get installed or doesnt support Vista, then u should use a Memory card reader to upload the photos.
