Hi. I did some reasearch on your TV, and this is what I found with regards to updating th software on the TV.

Firstly, you will need to download the “autorun.upg” file, and copy it to the root directory of a USB portable memory device. You can download the file at the following link:

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?scy=US&slg=AEN&sct=PLASMA_TV_SU&cat=TV_CA&session=20100625163836_170.65.128.6&grp=SOUND_AND_VISION_GR&ctn=50PFP5332D/37&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software

1- Power off your TV and remove all memory devices.
2- Insert the USB portable memory that contains the downloaded software upgrade.
3- Switch on your TV with the power switch on the side of the TV.
4- At startup the TV will scan the USB portable memory until it finds the
update content. The TV will automatically go to the upgrade mode. After a few seconds it will display the status of the upgrade procedure.

Note: Do not remove the USB drive from the TV while it is updrading.

Hope this helps :)

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. 6 blinks in your plasma TV means that the issue is with the power supply board. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then check the power supply board for any bad components; usually the capacitors go bad/bulged and cause these kinds of issues. You’ll need to replace the components with the exact same ones and/or replace the board completely to avoid any future issues. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Have a Samsung 65” led tv. Model # UN65H6203BF. LED back light blinks and red status light blinks when power plugged in. Changed Power Supply(used but good), no Change, all still blinks. Can unplug main...

You may have a back lights problem.

To test the back lights, you need to disconnect the cable between the main power supply & the main board, apply the AC power to the power supply, if the back lights are not light up, or blinks, the back light are defective.

SAMSUNG 42" TV screen/picture fades to dark. Only comes back if I press volume control!? First noticed image darkens shortly after turning on the tv, now its constant.

like Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Error reporting
Modern TV's are computers and try to indicate where a problem exists.
Does it need a Firmware upgrade?

Why won't my TV power on?!

Other than the power supply, it could be a cold solder joint on one of the PCBs. Easy to fix, but almost impossible to find.

I have a z20lcd1 tv and it has no picture

in the lcd tv there are three main parts
1)the inverter board(pannel)
2)the main board .
3)the power supply board.
----------
if there is no power at all them main board is faulty.if no front led light is coming ON there is no power .so the main board is not faulty.on the main board there is a fuse located you have to replace that and check first if still no power main board needs to be checked and replaced
---------------
if there is sound but no picture and front led light is blinking then its inverter board panel problem.if this is your case replace inverter panel.its located in the lower side of the lcd in the inner area below the main board.
-----------
but if there is just front led light blinking , but no picture or sound then its power supply board problem.
------------
on power supply board there are some capacitors and ic located.if any of the component gets short or budged up then it short the power supply board.so you can check the components on power supply board with multimeter and get it replaced by using soldering iron.
----------
also you can get new replaCEment power supply board.this clears the problem completely.
---------
you can get the required board and components at ----- www.partstore.com -------- or from ------ www.radioshack.com ----
---------
if you are not familiar with doing this you can get it done by local tv repair technician familiar with this model tv.

Philips 42PF5321D/37 Plasma No Picture Six Red LED Flashes

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
http://homenol.blogspot.com/
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.
Counting of number of blinks to Philips TVs is entirely different to that of other brand TVs. It is not a direct count procedure. The site have details about how to count the number of LED blinks [Fault Codes] to Philips brand TVs are given; along with details of the faulty circuit location.

Philips 42PF9630A 42 in. Plasma 42 in. Plasma

Ok 7 red blinking led, remove the back cover of the TV. Looking at the power supply in the upper left of power supply. If everything is working fine you will see a solid green led if there is an error, you will see this light blinking also. Right below this led on the power board you will see a list of numbers 1-13 this will give u the problems that this led flashing problems are. More and likely u will have a problem with VSET or VSCAN. Which is connected to the Y-Main and Y-buffers,( the board that is too the left of the power supply if u look on the small print on this board you will see that it reads. 42HDV4 Ymain and the 2 small boards connected to it are Y buffers. To be sure that this board is bad if the TV keeps going into error protection. unplug the power supply and wait for the led to stop flashing. Disconnect the cable that plugs into Y-Main from the Power Supply. It should stay running. If u remove this board and look underneath u should be able to see where this board is getting hot. Easiest fix is to order a replacement. Y-main assembly.
