Now whith any CD say NO DISC

In my dvd apex MD 100 when i put a CD say NO DISC, before was working well and now i don`t know what happen. Thank you

Mine degraded over time but now the player will not read any disc. I've tried a "cleaning disk" but ths did not help. I'm not sure how a lens can go bad, being a passive device. Anyone know if the lens tracking mechanism can be aligned?

The lens that reads the DVDs might need cleaning or it failed already.
If this is something you want to try, open the DVD cover and open the DVD mechanism, once you do this; you will see something like an eye. Use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol should work.
If after cleaning it, still does not work; the lens is defective and will need to be replace.
Hope this helps.

Does not play DVD

You need to open top cover and look inside dvd player cd tray. Does dvd / cd disc spins or having loading problem because grrrrr seems mechanical problem.
Let me know your finding to guide you further.
Thank you.

Displays "NO DISK"

The message indicates that the system failed to read the index portion of the disc. Try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Try playing a music CD as well. If hte CD plays but the DVD continues to fail, you have a failing optics assembly that needs to be replaced. This is the most common symptom of failing optics. DVDs will fail while CDs will play.

Dvd player not loading

I openned mine up and found that the lens carrige was not in the fully retracted position. I pushed it all the way back to the back of the slide. Then I removed the two screws on either side of the spindle support so I could get to the lens. I hit the lens with some compressed air, plugged it in and loaded a disk and it worked like a champ. Listening to some Stevie Ray Vaughn right now!!! And going to watch some movies later. ;)

Good luck, I hope this helps someone.

WHY WON'T MY DVD PLAYER WORK?

you can try this unplug the unit , you'll need alchohol, q-tips, screwdriver open it and look for all the flat cable connectors. be carefull and remove 1 side at the time ,and clean the contacts, put them back on , see if you can see the optic laser inside the mechanism it looks like a crystal eye, if you can reach it be gentle and clean the dust may it have. or buy at radio shack a cd cleaner. if after that your dvd don't work with dvds try a regular cd. if it plays music the laser its bad nothig else you can do. cheaper to buy a new one

Loading...loading...loading...(10 minutes later)...no disc

I just fixed this problem. This will not fix any underlying problem, but it will get you up and running again. THIS MIGHT SCRATCH THE CD.
Unplug the unit. Remove the top cover. There are screws on the side and the back. Once you do you will see the dvd is not in correct position. Slide it around till you feel it drop into place. YES, YOU MAY END UP SCRATCHING THE CD. Plug the unit back in and it will eject.

For me the underlying problem is that the disc drawer closes while I am putting the cd in, causing it to not be seated properly. If anyone knows how to fix this .....
