My Nikon Lazer 500 range finder stopped registering a distance, I replaced the battery, cleaned the 2 lenses and still doesn't work. Any suggestions for me to fix this myself?

There may be a short cut because of the humidity. First dry it.

Check the polarity of the batteries while placing in the item.

    1. Remove the batteries.

    2. Check ithe item for a short cut and continuity of the electronic card. Use multimeter to check this.

    a. Full size movement on the screen MEANS Short Cut

    b. Minumum size movement on the screen MEANS Connections are Normal

    c. No movement on the screen MEANS Discontinuity on wiring

Did you drop the item? If at least one time you have dropped it then this is out of your any user to fix it. So it should be brought to the nearest Authorized Service Center.

Hi,

Make sure that nothing such as your hand or finger is blocking the laser emission aperture and laser detector.

Make sure that the laser emission aperture and laser detector are clean. Clean them if necessary.

Make sure that the target shape and condition is appropriate to reflect the laser beam.
Otherwise, you'll need to contact Nikon service center for repair.

Good Luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Lost the battery cap for a Nikon LR550 range finder. need a replacement

I also lost the battery cap for the LR550. I signed up for an account on Nikon.com and asked how to get a replacement through the "Service and Support" section. Very delighted to report that they immediately FEDEXed a replacement part - free of charge!!!
Love my range finder, disappointed that the cap fell out but impressed with the service. Will put some tape over the battery cap from now on.

Using 200-500 Tamron on Nikon d300. When I shoot, camera freezes. Clock and exposure readout next to it, on top panel, blink. Camera will not turn off, I have to take the battery out. Lens works...

Maybe there is something wrong with your batteries? Replace them. I had the same experience with my D200 and a Nikon 18-200 lens, later with my Nikon 10.5, Sigmaa 135-400. After replacing the battery everything worked as ever.

I recently received a new Nikon 500 mm f/1.8 lens. I have been trying to connect the lens to my Nikon Dx and my Nikon D3100 for HOURS. I just cannot figure out what I am doing wrong! HELP! Is there a...

Hi dear rybba, you can use the 50/1.8 D in any Nikon camera only what for this model of camera you must rotate the aperture ring to the bigger f number ( 22 ) and lock in this position ( read printer material included in lens box).
Will also have to focus manually but the AF LED in the viewfinder will help you for sharp focus.

I have a coolpix L20 for about 2 months - whenever I put in new batteries it states that the batteries are exhausted - could there be a short and if so, is it worth fixing?

This is a known problem and Nikon were offering a free fix for camereas within a specific serial number range. I can't find the link so suggest you check their website.

Battery goes flat after less than 10 uses

You will find that 3000 uses is only under test conditions at a certain temperature level etc. If your battery only lasts ten uses then the unit has a problem and needs to go to the manufacturer. 500 to a thousand is more realistic figure. If its cold where you live or use it expect the lower end of performance out of your batteries.
