When you say "hard reset" do you mean turned power on and off or used the reset button?
Hold the reset button down for at least 10 seconds, then see if the
router resets. If not, I think you are in the market for a new router
How old is the router?if more that a year or two i would just replace
it, they are not made to last forever i already been through one it
lasted about 3 years an it was a linksys.Try holding the power cord to
the back to see if the power light stays with you holding it still ,on
i know after awhile the connection can get lose, if it stayes on while
your holding it replace the AC adapter or just get a new router.
Hey Have you checked your hot and neutral on the power plug ? With the
ground prong on the bottom, hot is on the left (black wire in house
wiring) and is bigger than the neutral slot on the right ( white wire
in house wiring) If you haven't done this before DON'T open up the
wiring.....
Get a "Ground Fault" wiring tester at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. It will also tell you if the wires are reversed. about $12.
BTW....
Reversed wiring in the phone connection will allow voice calls but
computer modems, faxes, can fail. Tester for this is at Radio Shack.
