Brickmann 6440 Side burner puts out a good flame. Main burner when turned out has a good flame but then after a few minutes reduces to a not very hot flame. Even less so as more burners are turned on. I checked for leaks then blew compressed air down the line to the main controls. I seem to get plenty of air out of the burners. I tried a second tank and also check the hose tank for air flow. The side burner does however have a good flame. I am stumped.

Reduction in flame as more burners are turned on is usually a sign that the regulator is going bad, try replacing the hose and regulator.

Thanks, I tried two new regulators and still have the same problem. The side burner has a good flame as does the rotisserie burner. I did take out the main controls (there are 5 valves and they seem to be functioning properly (lots of air flow and I can't **** any air) so I am still kinda stumped. It seems to me that it would be a regulator problem however the other burners do work and two new regulators did not do the trick.

Flame on our new Samsung gas stove too high... simmer is still boiling everything

It is generally not possible to reduce the flow of gas to the burners on a stove top. The burners on a gas stove are designed to operate at a specific flow rate, and reducing the flow of gas to the burners could affect their performance. If you are concerned about the amount of gas being used by your stove top burners, there are a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the burners are properly adjusted so that the flame is the correct size for the pan you are using.
  2. Use a pan with a flat bottom that is the same size as the burner. This will help ensure that the burner is being used efficiently.
  3. Turn the burner off as soon as the pan is hot enough. This will help conserve gas and reduce your energy usage.
If you are still concerned about the amount of gas being used by your stove top burners, you may want to consider switching to an electric stove or using a gas stove with a more efficient design.

I light the pilot on my built in fireplace, a thirty to forty seconds after turning on the main burner the fire will go out, for a few seconds prior to the fire going out the pilot flame shows a lifting...

It could be, I want you to try this and see what happens. First clean up the thermocouple with steel wool until it looks new, now carefully try to relocate it (bend it) so it is at the top center of the pilot flame. This is the hottest part of the flame. You may even want to close off the damper slightly until the main flames get hot then open it all the way. Now I am not telling you to close the damper all the way but simply close it partially until the main flame is established for a little bit(two to three minutes). If this works you have a strong draft and just continue to light it the same way. A good draft is not a problem as this vents carbon-monoxide out of your home, and thats a good thing.

My patio mushroom heater lights up ok but keeps going out by itself after about 5 to 10 minutes and then can be started again inatantainiously by starting pilot light and away you go until it goes out...

Hello,
Here's a few things to check. When you light the pilot, is it a strong blue pilot flame, a weak blue flame or a lazy yellow flame? Is it heating the thermocouple enough to make it red hot after a few minutes? If the pilot is small blue or lazy yellow flame, it may be dirty and need cleaned. When the burner lights, the weak pilot flame may diminish causing the thermocouple to cool off enough to shut down the main burner. Clean the dirty pilot orifice by using a can of compressed air with attached straw. (The same canned air you use to clean computer keyboards) Blow it into the pilot assembly where the pilot flame burns out from and blow thru the air holes on the side, if applicable. You might also check the thermocouple itself to make sure the tip is not partially burn't off. It should be a smooth, rounded tip. Replace the thermocouple if cleaning the pilot orifice doesn't solve the problem. Douglas

Hotpoint nvl333gyoww gas dryer heats for a few minutes, then no heat. Seals appear fine, door latch appears fine, not sure what it could be - suggestions? Thanks.

here are a few reasons that you will get heat for a few min and then no heat.

1. if the vent is cloged, anywhere in the flexable hose to the wall or from the wall to outside. If the vent is cloged the flame in the unit will widen and the thermostat hi limit will shut she burner off untill it cools.
2. The coils for the burner could be bad and will allow the burner to light a couple of cycles and then will get hot and internaly disconect the coil untill it cools down and then will repeat and will get worse over time.

The good news :) The ignitor is good if it lights a flame, If the flame burns for more that 10 sec then the flame switch is mostlikley good. The main valve in most cases will also be good.

Main burner too hot & 2nd burner pilot won't

Set t/stat to 250 degrees. If it does not shut off after about 5 minutes, replace t/stat.If shuts off, must be calibrated Pilot may be dirty, flame weak. If flame strong, replace thermopile(pilot generator). If weak, must remove and clean pilot orifice inside pilot.

When the gas boiler comes on the pilot light goes out after about 60 seconds then reignites itself a few minutes later.

This is caused by a weak flame sensing device. As main burner ignitin occurs this creates a roll out condition , when this condition occurs it derives oxygen from the pilot light thus reducing flame signal and causing the pilot to drop off momentarily.
