There is a small hole in the front of the drive, use a straightened paper clip and insert that in the hole in the drive face, push, the drive will pop open

CD/DVD Drive Tray problems
There are two ways to open the CD/DVD drive door if the button just below the drive tray does not work.
Go to My Computer and right click on the drive and click on Eject.
If this does not work then you can manually open the CD/DVD drive tray by -
Straighten a paper clip and gently insert it into a tiny hole below the drive tray next to the Eject button. Push the paper clip gently until the drive tray pops out, then pull the tray until it is fully out, then you can remove the CD/DVD disc.
If you still having problem opening with the Eject button, then the CD/DVD drive is faulty and needs replacing.

Brand new ASUS desktop DVD/CD R-W drive won't open.

hold the faceplate open, get a paper clip. There is a small hole in the front of the DVD/CD drive, place the paperclip in it and push slowly until the device drawer opens.

The DVD/CD drive won't open

There's a little hole in the front of the dvd drive (it may be behind the flip down cover). Stick a paperclip in the hole while pushing the eject button.

My 2400 series dell desktop no longer opens the cd/dvd drive door when I push the button, light does not come on...seems to be dead. Is there a fix or do I just need to buy a new cd/dvd drive?

There is small hole in that cd/dvdrom to open the cd/dvd drive use paper clip to pass through that hole to be able to open the cd drive.

at the bottom on the right of the top panel dvd drive there are words the words stating to push with a arrow under the words and gently push on it and the dvd door will open and a carriage with slide out excessing a spot to place your dvd or cd disk; gently push it back and wait a second or two and auto play with ask you what u want to do.
If you are referring to using the program; click on my computer there should be icons with main drive(C) and another DVD Drive just click on that icon and the program should open for your decisions to use or modify

I just bought an ASUS desktop pc, cg series and the cd/dvd drive will not open. How do i fix this or do i need repairs?

If you bought it BRAND NEW - take it back - if 30 days has gone by - then send to the manufacturer and let them know its coming.
(the manufacturerer of the CDROM that is ) tell them your sending a defective product back (i am assuming you didnt use it as a cup holder and break it) lol
they have a 1 yr warrenty on it most likely.. which means they hope it wont **** up before 1 year.

How to install a ASUS CB-5216A 52x CD-RW Burner DVD-ROM

Here is a site that has a good manual for installing the Dvd Burner. It is very stright forward once you open up the case. Just make sure that you unplug the computers power cable, open up the case. Notice how the cables in the back of the cd rom are connected. Take the CD rom out and slide the new one in. The site listed below also has pictures to help you out.
