Question about Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ85U Plasma TV
This is a power supply issue - found a company that has used power supplies, they sell them for $60.00. We recommend a professional install the board because the voltage needs to be adjusted after the install or you could damage something else. The high voltage in the set can KILL you soe be very careful. The web address for the PS board is plasmafix.com.

I had a similar problem this morning switching the TV back and forth between a Wii game and the Directv connection. I had the dreaded 2 blinks and later 10 blinks. If I held down the power button, it would eventually stop but if I tried to power up the TV, the blinking resumed. I unplugged the TV for short periods and then tried it again to no avail. I finally gave up and called Best Buy and was told to call the corporate number to get repair scheduled. I was busy at the time so I just unplugged the TV and left it unplugged for about 4 hours. Later, I plugged it in again and this time it worked. I read somewhere on the web that turning the TV off and on over short periods will cause some of these problems. You may have a bad board but you could try unplugging and waiting several hours before trying it again.

I had this same problem. I was told that it was problem with the voltage coming from the HDMI cable. I unplugged all my HDMI cables and the power cord to the tv and waited a couple minutes. It turned on fine after that. I narrowed the problem down to my xbox 360. If the xbox is turned on before the TV then i get the same problem. I have learned to turn my TV on first then my xbox 360 after and have not had a problem since. Hope this helps. Good luck!

10 blinks indicates a problem with either the P, A, SC or SS boards - you need to do a systems diagnosis to determine the bad board. The P, SC and SS boards require a voltage adjustment, which may require an oscilliscope. There are high voltages involved (even when power is disconnected), so considerable caution is advised.

I had the same problem with my TH-PZ80U and I turned off the power on my power strip (unplugged the TV), waited a few seconds and pluggeed in the TV again. It worked.
