Turn off the accoustimas, unplug the power code from the accoustimas and the media center and leave it for 15 sec. Then, plug the power code onto the accoustimas and turn it on. then plug the power code of the media center on. Turn media center on.

For remote, probably better to send it to Bose or even try a warranty repair under their 1 - 5 year scheme. Or, they will tell you the authorised repairer.

Does the Bose have HDMI out? Does the tv have an HDMI socket?
If it does just connect them both together. All inputs i.e. cd, ps3 dvd etc will go into the Bose.

Not sure if this is the same problem, but I lost audio from the Stored, TV, Radio and my external speakers, but still had audio for the CD/DVD. I contacted Bose (Australia) support and they talked me through a solution that worked for me.
Remove the power cord from the Media centre, then while holding down the 'All Off' and 'Vol down' buttons on the Media Centre, reconnect the power (and continue to hold the buttons down). After 10 secs, release the buttons and turn the Media centre on. Everything worked fine for me after doing this.
Full marks to Bose for the phone support. I hope this helps someone else.
Call Bose tech support. They fix or replace these under warranty. I have a lifestyle 12, original model, after two repairs in. Ore than 10 years, I was allowed to upgrade to top of the line for the price difference.
Just got off phone with Bose support with this very problem during install of a VS-2 software updtae to an older LS48 system. (Bose support personnel were very helpful on phone - and walked me through procedure to solve). I presume you unplugged and replugged power supply with no resolution. In that case, unplug power supply, wait 30 seconds and while holding down the "open/close button" and the "store" button (on media center) plug the power supply back in. Continue holding until the "Bose Lifestyle" message disappears. I presume this puts the system into a diagnostic mode, as the next steps in my case were to press and hold the "erase" button while scrolling through a menu of options using the "volume up" button. I believe it was the third "volume up" press that brought me to "FLASH" on the system screen. At that point I was told to release the "erase" button and press the enter button. The system rebooted and my VS-2 install went smoothly after that.
I'd recomend calling Bose support (800-905-2138) since your lockup occured during a CD load vs a software update (just to be on the safe side) - I was talking to a live tech support person in less than 15 seconds... a pleasant surprise.
hate to stae the obvious and painfull answer, but that nees to go back to the shop where if the sales guy cant get it sorted for you it could be a firmware crash and tus a warranty replacement, i know the manual is not that good in this specif area. and a non warranty reset may cost money, if warranty does not cover this specific area of adventure as it is possible they could blame the content of the media being corrupted in some way, could be ahrd one.
however you could try remoing the disk and resetting the system according to manual frist.
