Hello i have purchesd dell 15 r model leptop it has web cam capture facility but how to get snap shot as ther is no snap shot utility

Troubleshooting listed on the Toshiba website:
The TOSHIBA Web Camera Application provides you with convenient operations and easy access to:

• Preview the video that the Web camera is currently capturing, at the same time
• Support 2D mode, Shutter Glasses 3D mode and Red-Cyan Glasses 3D mode
• Capture still images
• Record videos

If this utility or feature is not installed on your computer, you can verify if it is available for your specific model under "Downloads" on the TOSHIBA support web site (support.toshiba.com). Not all utilities are available for every model and operating system. When installing any utilities, install the TOSHIBA Value Added Package first.
To open the Web Cam:

1. Click the Start menu. On Windows 8, go to the Start screen.
2. Enter "Camera" into the search field. On Windows 8, type "Camera" while viewing the Start screen.
3. Click "Web Camera Application" in the search results.
4. The Web Cam will open and live video from the camera will be displayed.
5. When you place your cursor over the web cam video window a row of icons appear at the bottom.

HI, try going to the Sony's website and see if you can download software that has the still shot option in and detects your Webcam.

Under programs, there is a dell web cam program,there is also a dell web cam help file,if you install skype (a free web cam communication program) it will automatically turn on and off the web cam as the program starts and exits.there are also other dell web cam programs that will let you adjust ,and take snap shots called web cam console and dell webcam manager

click start menu, click all programs, from the list of programs, look out for Cyber shot, click it and that's the webcam.

After you have finished taking pics, a cyber shot folder would have been created in "My Documents". Open it and you will find the pics you snapped there.

Although not all Hp pavillion uses Cyber shot, but just check all programs, you will find the web cam there.

Usually when you snap or make a video with your web cam, a folder is created in your documents with web cam name, open your folder and you will find your pictures and videos. For example, if your web cam name is Cyber shot, you see Cyber shot folder in your documents

If you don't find it in your documents, check your Drive (C:) thoroughly, or desktop or all programs.

You can also use "start Search" to look for it.

you can use the webcam prog capture for see if works or try skype also web cam utility there and msn have also the posibility for webcam options

You may have accidently set your "Image Review" facility to off, in the camera menu refer to page 75 of the instruction manual. Also look at Custom setting 15  - Auto Off Timers, this is also linked with how long your Image review monitor stays active, refer to page 78 for this. Cheers Ian

It sounds like a loose connection between the camera and the computer inside the case.

The Video capture Utility says so.

And if you have no picture it comes out black.

you will need to replaced the camera
