Wow you simply have got a few snags, this camera needs a reset, press reset button, yes I know you will lose time/date but at least it will sort things. David

When turning the 2nd burner on keep the button depressed.
Press the 3rd burner button down untill it stops.
Hold both in that position!
As you slowly release the 2nd burner button, continue pressure on 3rd button while gently wrigling it back and forth/side to side .
As the 2nd burner button is coming up and you fidget the 3rd they will hit a happy medium. This happens around about the middle of slowly releasing burner 2s button.
Dont use excessive force, also if its just been started up you will have to gove the machine 5 mins to warm up before this works.
Hello, Unplug it - hold all x3 buttons on the front down when you plug it back in (Eject, Play & Stop). Let go after a couple of seconds & it will go into a factory menu mode. Select option 5 then option 1 for factory reset. Power off then back on & you will have to set the basic options and scan for channels again. *** YOU WILL NOT LOSE ANY RECORDED PROGRAMS *** Have had x2 new motherboards while in warranty then a 3rd 3 months out of warranty to allegedly fix this issue. Is very good when working but tarnishes the Sony name for me. I even had to pay for the 3rd motherboard ! Customer service was shocking in my experiance. Good luck - I'm on my 2nd reset as above, seems to occur every 4 months... Rob.
Im assuming that you have already checked all your connections and made sure that your settings are right. You should try this: hold down the power button for 3 beeps (this will end up turn the system on then on the 3rd beep should turn it off). Once its back off hold the power button for 2 beeps and after the 2nd beep let go and should bring you into the recovery menu.
1st have clean all settings? a reset button is behind nerby the power connector.
2nd change wireless passkey(use WPA2 it´s safer) and very important the router password.
3rd reboot computer, then vista work well. (Its a Vista Defect, dont ask me why, but it´s true)
dear ... there is an option in the menu ..... of hvr A1 TO KEEP THE VIEW finder.... ON..
write nw ur camcorder is in auto mode ,wht happen in auto mode is ,view finder gets ON only when u turn the LCD pannel ... so need nt worry change ur MENU option OF view finder from AUTO to ON,......
