Hi Cath.

Not sure why you would need the R260 service utility when your printer is the CX6600 but I'll answer both questions and hopefully you'll get everything you need.

The CX6600 problem is a relatively easy fix thanks to an article I wrote after fixing up one of these for my wife a few years ago. It includes information on resetting the protection (waste-ink) counter as well as redirecting the waste ink flow so that should cover that side of things.

Right... as to the R260.. You can reset the waste ink counter on that printer using the IPR_A10 utility from Epson.. Information about the utility and links for download are provided on wasteink.co.uk

Hope that solves the issues you're having...

Martin

Hi I brought some Wilkinson ink cartridges that are compatible with epsom T0715 for my Epsom sx210 printer. Everything worked fine, now after approx 2 weeks I'm unable to print as it keeps saying...

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or
poor ink cartridge contacts.

Lookin to bypass service required for epsom r265

Hi, I have come across this problem with Epson printers in the past. What it is wanting you to do is send it in for a 'service'. Actually it's just the waste ink pad inside the printer that needs to be cleaned or changed and often this pad is not full with ink at all and therefore the service indicator and waste ink counter can be safely reset. A niffty piece of free software is avaiable to do just this. Go to this site: http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml and download the latest version. Operating instructions are on the site and it's very easy to use. This will save you quite a bit of money for now but I would remommend that the next time a service warning comes up that you should then have the printer serviced as eventually the waste ink pad will become full and need cleaning or replacing.

Ok.. aside from the fact that you've posted under the R300 Epson model thread you're still in luck.

The CX6600 has been documented (by me admittedly) with a complete guide to fitting an external tank and resetting the waste ink counter in the printer.

Just to note: This is a commercial site but the information provided is generic and will help you fix the problem.

Epsom C62

Try putting your question in the correct section: Epson C62. This section is for the CX6600 and is not appropriate for your machine.

Possible that the waste ink collector is full. (When you clean the cartridges, some ink is used, and that ink has to go somewhere!)
Might be worth having a look at http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/31526
(at your own risk, of course :) )

Make those arragemnets, it needs its waste ink pads replaced and ink clean counter reset via Epson Service software (Eagle)

If you just rest counter you are likely to have ink running loose into printer, there are 8 seperate ink pads in these none of them easy to replace, machine need to be fully stripped to do so.

These macnes count how many cleans they do and stop when figure that epson estimate ink pads are full is reached. It is more ecomical to replace inkjets than to fix, buy a new one with gen inks warranty for same price as repair bill.
