How can I finalize an open disc to view content on disc.

My panasonic VDR-M53PP Camcorder was stolen. Can I have an open disc finalized to view content on disc?

    I am unable to view material on disc. My computer DVD drive will not read material on the disc.I know that the disc has video material on it I can also see the marking on the surface of the disc.
    Panasonic customer service said I require the same model of camera to finish the disc?.

I'm having the same problem that Sandyur is having. There is something on the disc because I can view it on the camcorder. I just can't view it on the pc.

You dont need to finalize a open disc, it only closes the disc so no more data can be written to it, if you cant find anything from the disc then most likely its empty.

    you can use the pc software nero to finalize a disk.

Need to provide power from ac charger of camera so disc finalize option will appear to finalize disc.
Powering camcorder with battery wont give you Finalize option so use ac charger to get Finalize menu.

Finalization menu will come if camcorder is powered by its AC adaptor.
Plug AC Adaptor in your camcorder to get Finalization Menu to finish disc recording.

INCOMPATIBLE DISC
Good news.. you should be able to put the disc back in to the device that you recorded in on... and go to the menu to do the finalize... in fact, you may be able to add more to you disc prior to the finalize process if you want...
once it's finalized you should be able to view on other equipment... your files should all be there as well.

Disc won't eject
I have the same issue. If you gently pull on the dvd door while trying to eject it should open for you. More of a workaround than a fix.

Problem in finalizing the disc over camcorder.
Inorder to finalize the disc you must purchase, or have a piece for the charger that looks like a battery. it plugs into the charger than into the camera. The camera will not finalize the disc without it incase the battery runs out, than all info would be lost.

A huge pain in the ***. I know, I have the same problem.
