Does the projector work with another source? are you using the VGA cable? Have you seleted the proper input on the projetor?

Some have "auto" input selections but some may need to be told which input to use.

Some projectors have lower resolutions then monitors. Sometimes they requiire a lower resolution to work. Before you connect the projector try moving the resolution of the desktop down as low as you can. Say 800X600 then try the projector and see if it will work.

Sure can be fixed.

1st of all you need to connect the projector with your laptop turned off. One the laptop has finished booting and loading windows. Hit the Fn+f4 or f7 key to switch between the displays then you will get the display.

But if this also does not give display then you can check with the projector with Video INPUTS (Eg. Input 1 / Input 2 etc.,)

I have my G60 laptop connect to an LCD projector. I wanted to turn off the screen on the laptop and hit Function F4 which i have done in the past and it took the picture off of the LCD projector and now...
Disconnect the cable that is connecting the laptop to the projector. Sometimes this will happen if the projector or device you're connecting your laptop to does not support the current resolution that the laptop is displaying. Reconnect the cable and try using Function F4. If that does not work then disconnect the cable from laptop to projector, reboot the laptop then repeat connecting it to the projector and pressing Function F4.

Will it be okay to connect a 110 volt laptop to a 220 volt LCD projector?
What voltage is your mains supply?
The laptop's adapter should be a multi-voltage type 110 to 240 volts input.
If your mains is 110 volts AC then the 220 volt AC LCD projector won't work unless you connect it to a step up transformer (110 to 220 volt transformer).
If your mains supply is 220 or 240 volts then both the laptop and the LCD projector will work without any problems.

I'm using acer aspire one. My SD port is not working. It can not recognize the memory card. Also when I connected my laptop with LCD multimedia projector, it did not work too. Oh my God, anybody there who...
ok ... try this, switch on your aspire laptop, then u switch on your LCD multimedia projector... then u press the F5 key on your keypad(on your aspire) , HP, and many other manufacturers uses that key for the LCD,CRT,projector extension slot while other laptop manufacturers like Gateway e.t.c uses the F4 key for the extension... after you have done that... your aspire screen goes dim then it should show on your LCD...but if not then switch off your laptop with your LCD multimedia projector ON then swicth on your laptop it will automatically work with it ok.....

this applies to other laptops and projectors or LCD s ...

Laptop screen does not work when plugged into projector
If you connect a laptop projector or external monitor before you boot up your laptop, the video most likely will go directly to that external device. To have both the laptop LCD and projector you will need to press the Function key that has the monitor/laptop symbole (this key will be a dual function key and you will need to press the Fn key first and then the Function key with the monitor/laptop symbole. This Function can be any key between F3 and F12, it depends on the brand of the laptop.
When you press this key it will toggle between
LCD only
External monitor/projector only
or both LCD and external monitor/projector

Toshiba laptop won't work with new optoma projector
-toggle the laptop display using the FN keys and F5 I believe. -lower laptop resolution to 800 x 600 -look in laptop display properties for lcd or external display settings, see if it (external crt) has to be enabled on the laptop first.

Multi-media projection without image
A great deal of the time DVD players are very restrictive on outputting to multiple sources due to copyright protection. In my experience, if you use your laptops function keys to toggle output (For example, on my laptop, I hit FUNCTION + F4 to cycle between LCD,LCD+VGA,VGA), you should be able to disable the laptop's LCD display, only outputting via the VGA cable. It's worked for me with my HP VP6111 and Windows XP in the past. Hope this helps!
