Hi there i have a 2004 Yamaha YZF 250 that will run on choke then push the choke in as soon as u give it throttle its bogs an back fires then dies or u can build the revs it runs jst bout thanks

Would almost certainly be blocked pilot jet and pilot circuit a classic symptom of this is running only with choke on

Will not stay running without the choke on

check to see if your carbs. are on tight. 2. might have stopped up low speed jets,might have to clean carbs. synchronize them.check air filter and sparkplugs,and gas line filter.

Wont stay running with out the choke on

it sounds like you need a carb clean performed. the idle cuciut jet is probably dirty and that is the jet that supplies gas to the combustion process at idle rpm's. when you have the choke pulled out it is adding fuel and air so when you shut off the choke the fuel supply goes away. for the oils use yamalube 2 stroke oil for pre-mix and 10w -30 gear oil for your tranny.
