Then go to Maintenance. • Print a test page. • Clean to fix horizontal streaks. • Align to fix blurry edges. Try any of these to clean the printhead. Hope this helps. 240c series rinter words are faded when it prints

Try cleaning the print head using the front panel of the printer. If it doesn't work, remove the ink cartridge and clean it with lint free cloth or cotton swab using distilled water. Don't touch the gold part of the ink just press the cloth gently. Install the cartridge again and try to print. If still having faded pictures replace the printhead of the printer.

Call Kodak, there is a problem with print heads going bad on these printers. I have replaced mine twice now. They will put you through some tests on your printer, then will send you a new one for free if that's what they think the problem is.

Fading prints and new cartridge error, will not aliegn

It's possible it is the new cartridge, but it sounds more like the print heads. I had the same printer and same problems until I changed the print heads. You are better off buying American Made Printer Ink Cartridges Even If They Cost A Little Less Than Name Brands. I get mine from www.officeinks.com with a 1 year quality and satisfaction guarantee with free return shipping. I have used it once and had no hassle.

Faded Lines on my prints from my Photosmart express C4280

try using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth and carefully clean the print heads on the printer itself. Failing that, consult the manufacturer.

Faded prints off canon p100

it could the problem with clogged print head try to clean the print head

# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

Standard black printing has faded to grey.

Could just be a faulty cartridge?

My hp printer developed a similar fault, and despite all my attempts to clean, realign, whatever, the problem wasn't solved till I fitted a new ink cartridge. It's worth a try.

Prints faded

Hello mvjv,

To solve the faded prints you need to clean the printhead twice by going to the software and click the "?" mark icon on the upper right corner of the software window and then under General Links select Maintenance then choose Clean Printhead - do it at least thrice to unclog the printhead system. Then try making prints... If still cannot solve call Kodak Technical Support.

I hope I have been some of help.

Cealning the head

Actually, if you have this problem (and I really can't answer specifically because I don't know what printer you have) you can check the manufacturer's site for user and maintenence guides that should tell you how to do this.

With most printers you can remove the head if it is a laser printer, if its an ink jet the printing head is directly accessable by opening the front cabinet lid. You can use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip to clean the underside of the head as well as the interior where the ink cartridge is placed.
