Look for the wifi icon on any of your keyboard's function keys (F1 to F12). The wifi icon looks like a wave or radio signal like ))) or ((( or ((())). When you find that icon, example, in F10, then just press and hold down FN and press F10. This will turn your wifi on.

Also, if your laptop have a mechanical switch, you have to turn it ON first. The mechanical or manual switch is found usually in the sides and can be turned ON or OFF by sliding sideways.

Please post feedback so that I can help you further.

How do I turn on wireless capability

To enable or disable wireless functions, you must use the Hot Key combination of "Fn" + "F8". This means to press and hold the "Fn" key (near the windows key), and the press the "F8". This is a toggling function. Each time you press the key, it will turn on or turn off the function. Look for the Wireless Light to ensure that the wireless activated.

Does TOSHIBA SATELLITE 2805-S301 have a way to go wireless

Hello If your using Microsoft Windows open, Controll Panel , System , Device Manager. Look down the list to Network Adapters and click the plus symbol. If you have a wireless card installed it will show the name and type. Right click the wireless adapter and click properties. This box will tell you the status of your wireless adapter. If no wireless adapter is shown you will have to install a card. If the card is present and enabled you may have to turn the wireless function on by using a combination of keyboard keys or look for a switch on the computer. Hope this helps.

We had the same problem and the above solution didn't work. It wasn't anything your son did, but obviously a problem with the computer itself. Disconnect from the mains and pull out the battery with the computer still going, then restart. When prompted just open Windows normally and the wifi was now functional again.

Where is the switch or function key combination to turn on wireless connection?

It's difficult to tell, but there seems to be a small switch on the front, that may activate the wireless connection. If that isn't it, you can usually access the modems through control panel, under 'network and internet,' and the wireless assistant, or possibly the network and sharing center; if the wireless modem is disabled, right clicking on the icon will usually give you an option to activate it, or you can connect to a network through the network and sharing center, as well as detecting networks, and that will tell you whether or not the thing is working.

Wireless function key combination

Hi,

Usually on the toshiba it is Fn and F2 or F4 the f key will have a coloured picture of an antenna with waves coming off of it.

Also most toshiba laptops have a physical switch on the edge of the case below the keyboard. Make sure that switch is on first then try the Fn and function key combo as they work together like a two way light switch. Both must be on for the card to be active.
