If you are not able to hear sound during the this process, the power supply of the TV is likely failing.

If you are able to hear sound during the 3 minute ordeal, then likely the inverter for the backlight is failing, which can also be caused by a failing lamp as well.

Try this: turn the TV on, wait for it to do its thing. Goto the menus, picture settings, and turn the brightness *down* as far as it will go. Exit out of the menu (save if prompted). Turn the TV off, wait a bit, then back on. If still same issue, it could be the power supply or inverter / lamp assembly. But, if the cycle is shorter, or comes on right away, then it is likely the lamp / inverter.

Vp322 hdtv10a have picture but no sound, what board is it?

If the problem is same with different input devices and you have ensured the are no loose contacts in power outlet, RC jack, cable and sockets, the TV needs servicing.

I have the Vizio vp322 hdtv10a that doesn't turn on,I opened the back panel and found that the capacitors aren't bulging.

Hello, might need a Main Unit or Power Supply by the sounds of it. Try out a company named ShopJimmy.com for parts. I have used them with great success in the past. I included a link to their site from your model page. Hope that helps!

My vizio vp322 hdtv10a was on then just turned off all of a sudden. When i tryd to turn it on the vizio light comes on but the screen is still black.

Hi,

You need to check the output voltages of the power supply to see which one goes off. It may be due to short circuits some where. If otherwise,
Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I hope this will help to rectify the problem, and do take care in handling the TV, because it contains high voltages...

Hi my vizo 32 inch model vp322 hdtv10A has been flickering when it turns on and now their is no power and no lights and the tv wont turn on. what would be the cause of that?

Bad power supply, most likely. Take the back off and look around to see if any capacitors are bulged out. These need to be replaced with the same farad value, most likely 1000uF, but the voltage can be increased a little if need be.

Video demonstration.
You can get these parts at Radio Shack, or on Ebay. Just see which ones are puffed and match the value.

This is a powersupply. The capacitors are the ones with the + marks in the center of the circles.

I have a vizio vp322 tv and the tv power comess on but no picture the power ligh is all that comes on do know what it might be

I had the same problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound.

HOW I FIXED MINE:Look through the back vents for a white light to make sure the backlight still works. I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine. I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.

For me the part number was either (depending on the vendor) : 0171 2272 2174 or it was 3632 0212 0150. Check your circuit and see if any of those numbers match up.

I think I need a new power module for my Vizio vp322 hdtv10a tv. How do I open the TV to expose this module? There are about 10 million screws on the back of the set.

Remove the 4 screws holding the stand. Remove all the perimeter screws. Remove all the screws from the bottom speaker panel and the rest of the perimeter screws and the ground wire screws at each speaker. remove the screws on the surface of the back panel and you are in. The power supply is the large board in the middle. The bad capacitors are in the secondary and were C233, C234, and C236. I replaced these 3 capacitors and fixed this problem. They were 1-10v 1000uF and 2- 10v 3300uF electrolitic board mount capacitors. Easy to spot on the power board, the tops were bulged up. $5.54 later it works perfectly now.

No power

Most likely the power supply board. Have a repair shop check it out.
