My compaq monitor,fp5315,goes white at start up,i unplug it and usually it goes right back to normal..I've done factory reset...its still doing it..whats up with it...its about 5/6 yrs old

your LCD inverter is almost dead. the monitor itself actually remains on, but just goes to black each time the LCD inverter cuts out, since this is what supplies white light to the screen.

Problem with appearing normal windows desktop... go to Safe Mode to remove any possible pop-ups or vga driver to see where the windows stands normally.

check the same on bios screen for a long time if the same thing happnes need a repair.

Power Supply inside the monitor is bad, needs replaced. Compare cost of replace or repair. Usually best to just go get a new monitor.

sounds like the shielding in the cable could be the problem or the vid card might not be seated properly. It would not be a driver issue.

Please right click on My computer->properties- hardware-device manager-- check if your sound device is working fine. PLease let us know if we continue further

Hi I have similar, I'm an electronics engineer and took mine apart only to find the power supply is very sick to the pint the pcb that converts all the signals probably has been damaged too, ie BIN FODDER.

Not very constructive but at least I know what is wrong - if I can get any constructive info i willl post it....

Check the speaker output cable will be correctly plugged to CPU or not?. i.e line in, line out etc...

your monitor haveing power supply problume it is not swtiching properly

call the manufacturer. this monitor if mad by hyundai, which believe it is, is poorly mad and my customers have had many problems with them
