Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WD640 Front Load Washer/Dryer
Hi : Problem with my Hotpoint WF640, Aquarious Super Silent is: During final spinning cycle, water leakes form the front (botom ) of the machine and floods whole floor. Please guide me step by step to solve the problem. Also let me know what tools do I need to tight the inlet/ outlet connection from the supply source ? Because a pumbler left loose the connection one of the water connection which is occasionaly dripping - While he was replacing the new taps. A picture or diagram would be much helpful. Thanks. Sham...
Tools you will need:
2 Adjustable wrench's which opens up to 1"
Flat head screw driver
I need clarrification on which connection is leaking after the plumber replaced the new taps, but for now I will presume he replaced the isolator valves on the water lines to you washing machine.
To fix the leaky pipe open one wrench so that it fits snugly around the valve body (you may want to remove the little plastic handle of the valve) set teh other spanner on the nut which holds the pipe into the valve and rotate it in a clockwise direction to tighten, if the leak persists tunr of the water and check:
1. that there is an olive (little brass ring under the nut that the nut can tighten down onto.
2. PTFE tape or putty on the threads of the valve
As for the leak on your machine this leak could be coming from anywere, the usual suspects are:
Dissconnet the power and have a look for were you see the leak, look out for limescale, rust and other water/detergent marks to help you identify were the leak is comming from. Usually you can access the back of the machine and with a torch should see the pump assembly, you can remove the top of the machine usually 3 philips screws anlong the back side of top cover then it just lifts off.
Aternativly with some help you can lean the machine backwards so that you can look under it. ONLY attempt that if you have help and you can securely hold the machine in place. Lying it down flat might damage the machine if you dont do it slowly and very carfully, if you have the original shipping bolts that came with the machine I would advise installing them to help hold the drum in place.
Hope this helps.
