Nuvi 310 i am having a problem with the pin number, the device keeps prompting me wih invalid pin. may also unlock by moving to your seurity lcation. please help.

Going back to the security location will unlock the unit but in order to reset the pin code, the original pin code must be input.
To unlock the unit, it must be sent back to Garmin.

If you have a Garmin Lock on your nuvi, zumo or StreetPilot c500 series and you have forgotten your 4 digit PIN number you can unlock the device by returning to your Security Location. The Security Location is the location that you set when you first enabled the Garmin Lock on your device. Returning to the Security Location will unlock your device.

If you have forgotten your PIN and Security Location please contact Product Support for assistance. Please note we will require a copy of the receipt and there will be a charge to unlock the device as this issue is not covered by the warranty.

If you have a PIN number on your device you will have been asked to set a security location. When you are at your security location or within approximately 50 metres of your security location the device will unlock without the PIN number.

follow this instruction:

Step 1 Lock the screen by touching the "Lock" button. To unlock the screen, press the "Power" button.

Step 2 Lock the device by pressing the wrench icon, then "System" and "Garmin Lock."

Step 3 Press "OK." Then enter a four-digit PIN when prompted. Select "OK."

Step 4 Drive to a security location then press the "Set" button. Now each time you turn on the Nuvi, it will ask for the PIN. Enter it when prompted or drive to your security location.

Step 5 Send the Nuvi to Garmin to get it unlocked if you forgot both the PIN and the security location.

You have to go to the orig location you programmed your number. It uses the coordinates of that location in memory as a "Home" See below.

Sometimes this happen to me when I fumble the PIN entry. I have to switch it off and then re-start and enter the PIN more carefully. When choosing a secret unlock location, choose somewhere other than your home - it can be nearby but noe AT home. This is case a thief finds where you live and takes the nuvi there as most people make Home the Unlock Location.

Give it back to the owner. Owners don't forget PIN and they also know the secret location where the unit will unlock itself without the PIN.

Today when I turn it on my sat nav GARMIN NUVI 250 shows to need pin code so pleas help me to unlock it. thanks
