Question about Polaroid FLM-2632 Television

1 Answer

Just moved to new home. Using brand new coax cable direct from the wall to the tv and using the original FLM remote with new batteries. Turn on tv and get "no signal" in upper right corner of screen. In just a few seconds I get a message on the screen to "scan channels". But the menu does not provide a click on item for me to to scan cable channels only HD channels. Our service does not provide HD. How do I get to a menu to scan channels for the regular cable channels?

Please go to SETUP menu and select Factory Reset to clear any wrong settings in tv then Scan Channels to get regular cable channels.
Hope this will help you.

In SETUP menu, select DEFAULT, this is factory reset option to reset tv on default settings to clear any wrong settings/ bugs.

  • Anonymous Jun 23, 2010

I used the "default" suggestion to no avail. I clicked on the default and when to set-up .... got nothing new. When I go to the set-up menu there is nothing there about scanning the regular cable channels. As a matter of fact there is nothing there about scanning any type of channels. If I go to the HDTV tab I can scan HD channels. This producing nothing, as HD is not provided with the system we have at this apartment complex.
Any other ideas on how to get a "scan cable channels" menu or tab on my set?

Plug cable pin in TV Cable input at rear of tv.
Press INPUT button on remote to display input list, select TV (Cable/Air) in list and perform Scan Channels.

Note: if you select HDTV(cable/air) in that list, tv wont show you any channels because it don't have HD cable plugged in.

I pressed INPUT and selected (Cable/Air) but there is no drop down menu of any kind. In other words, no option given with which to scan the channels. The screen just jumps back to the message of Please Scan Channels
    Any more ideas????

I thought my message was not clear, once select TV(Cable/Air) after pressing Input button then press Menu and select Tuning menu and scan channels.

  • Anonymous Jun 23, 2010

Did that. But there is no "Tuning" option on any of my menus. It's like I am missing a menu or a piece of the set up menu that tells me to scan channels.
Please remember the initial screen when this is turned on shows "no signal". Even though, since my second message to you, I have had the TV plugged into my cable in the living room which was providing a signal to the living room TV.
This TV use to be a bedroom and was jumpered from the living room TV. Could we have screwed up the menu system? This Polaroid tv is cable ready so there is no switch on the back to select a channel 3 or 4. Is there some other maneuver that needs to be done to make it accept a signal from a direct cable hook up?
But even if I get a signal, there is still no apparent menu for "scanning cable channels".

I have installed many tv's over the years and never had this much trouble. Maybe the darn this is broke?

If tv shows No Signal on screen, that means its not getting any tv channel signal and its normal. Unplug cable from working tv, it will also show same message because it is not getting cable signal now.
Yes, I agree, we are missing some thing that is why not getting tuning menu in TV cable selection.
Click HERE and download user manual free copy that has detailed instructions about this tv operation, I hope you will find out missing part of tuning process.

I can't get tv to send sound to sound system

Having browsed the user manual I wonder if you plugged in the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System while the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv was powered down via the optical cable .
Then powered up the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System first and then powered up the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv
Maybe the Polaroid FLM-2632 TV has to detect that the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System is connected and powered up when the Polaroid FLM-2632 powers up. To activate its digital audio out ????
The note part about only being available only under HDTV (cable/air) mode. Might be the cause of your hassle also ?

How do i turn the captions off on my sharp aquos 65

It depends on your connections. If you have a an antenna, standard cable from the wall, or a cable box connected with a coax cable u will have to turn it off using the CC button located under the panel on the bottom of you aquos remote. If your cable/satellite box is connected any other way besides coax, u will have to turn off the closed caption using the remote for that device...hope this helps.

Dish Network 625 - how to install and get it to work on 2 tv's. We have one working, need directions on how to get it to work on another tv as well.

On the back of the receiver there is a port labeled IN HOME DISTRIBUTION. Connect a coax to this port and the other end to the other TV. You will then need to put the other TV on 60 air or 73 cable and go back to the original TV with the receiver and using TV1 remote press MENU - 6-1-5 and change the TV 2 OUT to the station you have the other TV on. Now select done and you should have a picture on TV2. eNSURE THE ANTENNA ON THE BACK OF THE RECEIVER IS ELEVATED TO HIGHEST POSITION.Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I wonder if the RF interference from the digital tuner. That box will only allow ouput either through the coax or the AV ports. If you do both you will not get a picture.

If you switch them you have to tell the box what your using for output by going through the setup process.

Is the Zenith 901 converter box for your cable TV.

Female coax connector in tv bad?

If your cable converter box has audio/video connections on the back of it,you don't need to worry about using that RF coax connector. Just hook it up the same way your DVD is hooked to the TV input jack. Get a 3-wire cable (yellow-red-white)hook it to the same colors on the back of the cable box and hook the other end to an unused input on the back of the TV. Then select that input with your remote and watch TV.
