My symantec Anti-virus 10.0.0.359 is out of date. It has been 7 months after 1st time installation. Now it doesnt works. So i want it to start work again. What i should do?

I suspect you got 6 months free subscription to Symantec Anti-Virus when you bought your PC. If you want to continue to use it you will have to pay a subscription fee.

If you don't want to pay for Anti-Virus software, uninstall Symantec using the "add/remove programs" control panel then download and install AVG 11 Free Edition:

http://free.avg.com/gb-en/download-avg-anti-virus-free

If you wish to install AVG in any language other than English, there is a link at the top of the page to change the language.

Local machine: installation failed Installation: Error: Action failed for file avgrkx86.sys: starting service.... Error 0x8007001f

This means the the download was not fine. You must fiirst install from Control Panel->Add remove programs.
Then run the AVG initial downloaded program and redownload the main installation file and install it.

Try to down load AVG virus program and it is

It's usually indicative that you either already have an antivirus program installed (anti virus software treats other anti virus software as a virus) or you have a virus. Here are several links. The first is for the free version of AVG 9.0
This link if for a free online anti virus program by Trend Micro Systems called Housecall
I'd recommend a full anti virus scan on Housecall. After which you could either choose to continue to check on a regular basis or for realtime protection, download and install AVG 9.0.
I hope this answers your question. All the Best!

Removal of AVG8

Try bootin to safe mode by pressing F8 on turning on the system then try to uninstall by going into the control panel [Programs(vista)/Add or Remove Programs(XP)]

By doing this you will be able to uninstall the AVG anti virus.
Then restart and the system will boot in normal mode then install Kaspersky. Never have 2 anti virus in a system. Just a word of caution.
Cheers !

I can't download free AVG antivirus software, only the PC package

For AVG, you have to download an installer first from www.download.com and then download and install AVG. Alternatively download Avira on a dofferent machine and copy to your PC and install. I doubt if you can download AVG with this new system of installer.

My Acer Aspire 3680 is extremely slow, breaking up, giving error messages. Started yesterday but has gotten continually worse since then.

Have you installed any new programs recently?
Definitely sounds like spy-ware or a virus, check your system out. If you don't have anti-virus software installed, go here:http://shop.trendmicro.com/trialpay/
and run the anti-virus scan. I'm guessing you've got an infectected PC. For a free anti-virus program, you can go here: http://free.avg.com/download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition If after running the anti-virus scan your machine doesn't run better, please post back for more suggestions and best of luck to you!

I am trying ti install agv anti virus i have completley unistalled norton but i kepp getting this error message action failed for file agvmfx86 sys starting service error 0x80070002

Always shut down all running programs before trying to install anything like AVG. If you already have an AV program, uninstall it before trying to install AVG.

If still having problems after doing that..... RE-Download AVG 7.5 FREE and try the install again.
Good Luck,
