I have a whirlpool duet 2 1/2 years old I t has started to make a loud buzzing hum sound (that sounds like old top loader mixing valve malfunction?) and has error code 5d what is this ?

Sounds like the water valve or supply is clogged/turned off. The buzzing or humming sound is the control board energizing the valves.

The symptoms that you describe are caused by bearing failure. The water seal in the wash tub has failed, allowing water to leak into the bearing causing the bearings to rust. As the bearings start to rust, they will not roll properly and start to make a rumbling sound. The sound get louder the faster the bearing turns.
It a major job to repair since the washer has to be taken apart and the wash drum needs to be removed to replace the seal and bearings. Get a few estimates before deciding whether the washer is worth the cost to repair or replace. Sorry.

The water control valve on rear of refrigerator is weakening. That is typical sound for a coil that opens the side that dispenses water or ice tray refills to vibrate or buzz when weakening. it's the motor that makes the humming sound..it may have difficulty in starting..when starting like this the motor draws more current and this may cause the windings to burn out..try reducing the load..if the sound disappears then indeed the capacity of the motor is deteriorating...take out motor and clean bushing and lubricate.. also realign belt ..

You have one of two problems going on. Your fan is spinning at hitting the sides. Or your compressor is shot which seems to be more the problem and even though it is cold the humming sound is a warning for you that the compressor is shot and it is more affordable to replace the fridge then the compressor. Sometimes compressor can cost more then the fridge.

how old iss your washer? do you have an owners manual. because usually there is an extended factory warrenty on the tub and basket. the only thing you would have to pay for would be the labor. Call whirlpool if you do not have a owners manual to find out. the bearing is compressed in the tub. does it sound like an airplain taking off in your house that's usually it.

This sounds like a clogged water line or a electrical short !
I would get service rather than take a chance on electrical fire.
Or burn up the circuit in the ice maker.
