I just purchased an HP wireless Optical Mouse model: WE788AA I'm running XP. When I plug the 'adaptor' into the USB port, it is recognized by my system but then the mouse doesn't work. There are new batteries. I've tried to find/load drivers, but don't get any to come up in my search. Help, please!

Your mouse should use the standart windows mouse driver. It sounds like you might have a signal conflict. Check which frequency your mouse is using and check for other equipment using the same or similar frequencies. I had a similar problem with my wireless keyboard and mouse it was my wireless network interfering. Once you find out what the interference is you'll need to check your manuals or contact the manufacture to find out if you can change the frequency.

MY LAPTOP DOES NOT DETECH TOSHIBA USB OPTICAL MOUSE U20

Try a different USB port. Is the mouse wireless? If so, make sure it has a line-of-sight to the receiver that is plugged into your USB port. Does the laser (on the bottom) light up? If not, check the batteries.

How do I hook the wireless mouse

2 AAA batteries go into the Mouse itself.
You plug in the USB transmitter into any USB port (Windows will recognize the install the proper drivers for you automatically).
The Mouse should have a SYNC button (push that button after you add the 2 AAA batteries and have plugged the USB transmitter into a USB port).

First thing you need to do is to know that the USB ports of your laptop is really working. Insert another usb devices or storage such a flash disk. If the flash disk being inserted is not recognized by the system then the usb port you had inserted is malfunctioning or it is defective. But if the other usb devices like the flash disk is working then your new bought mouse is defective. Try to plug the usb mouse to the other ports available in your laptop.

Targus mouse not recognized

What is the OS of your computer? This Targus mouse would work with Win 98, Win 2000 and Win XP. Vista was not mentioned. And if you are running Windows Vista for you laptop, then that could be the reason why it was not recognized by the computer.

Is this the wireless optical mouse? If yes, you need to follow the steps below to isolate the problem:

1. Connect the USB receiver into different USB ports of the computer.
2. Replace the batteries with the fresh ones.
3. Try connecting the mouse into different computer to see if you've got a defective mouse.

If you've tried everything and got the same problem, you may need to refer to the manufacturer, because I'm not sure if this mouse is a Plug-n-Play device or if it needs a driver.

Have a great day!

My Trackman Marble FX stopped working after dealing with a virus. Never could get it to work, maybe I just wore it out. Bought a Logitech optical mouse but the left click is messed up. It locks and does a...

It could be a bad Trackman or a bad PS/2 Port.

1st test if it's the port by trying another mouse, or by trying this Trackman in another known working PS/2 port on another computer.  (don't forget to reboot each time you plug in a PS/2 device)

2nd, you can try using a PS/2 to USB adaptor.

These two have great reviews...
