Question about Canon EOS Rebel XS 35mm SLR Camera

Brand new Canon EOS Rebel XS. Suddenly, image in the view finder is blurry. Auto focus seems to be working, and pictures are coming out fine. But sometimes, the autofocus focuses on the wrong thing, and so the blurry view finder image is a real hassle.

Next to the viewfinder ther is a diopter adjustment so you can change the focus in the viewfinder. this is so if you need glasses the camera can be set for you. Start by focusing the camera on something, then slide to turn the diopter adjustment until it looks sharp and try not to bump it.

Good day,

The problem you might be having is that the view finder is out of focus.
If this is the problem it is an easy fix.
You will see a small wheel next to the view finder (it has a + and a - next to it), look through the view finder and let the camera focus on an object. Now turn the wheel and you will see the image either get worse or start to come in focus. Adjust the wheel until you are satisfied with the clarity.

My canon eos 100D wont's show the image on the screen. it will take the picture when looking through the view finder, but i would like it to appear on the screen. pleae help
Unlike compact point and shoot cameras, Canon's range of EOS D-SLRs don't have the LCDs stay on all the time. The design of the SLR camera involves a mirror in front of the sensor. The mirror in its normal position inhibits the image to be captured by the image sensor. When you shoot, the mirror flips up for a split second and back to its rest position.

To use "Live View" (composing shots with the LCD), there is an option in the Menu to enable it. Once enabled, press the centre "Select" button behind the camera to activate the LCD. However, the camera can't Auto Focus for you in Live View mode so manual focusing input is required of the photographer.

I just bought a new Canon EOS Rebel XS and can't figure out as to why I can't see the image in the LCD monitor while shooting, I have to look through the eye view to shoot.
When in P (Program) mode you can press the "SET" button and it will display the image on the LCD display.

Canon Rebel XS will not take pictures in autofocus with one lens. I have a Canon Rebel XS which has worked great until recently...with my shorter lens, I can see through the viewfinder but the camera will not take a picture when the lens is set on autofocus. It does work with manual focus. My longer lens works fine. I tried it with a friends lens and it worked fine...is this a setting on the lens that might somehow be out of whack?
