My canon clc 2400 i9s dropin toner or starter

This is an error for the Drum units. The E020 is for toner concentration, the " 01 " is for Magenta and the " 81 " is for the concentration in the developer unit for the window sampling is below 70. Best thing to do is replace the Magenta Starter and do an initialization procedure in Service Mode. Better left to a Tech.

The error code E020 refers to a density problem with one of the Drum Units.

ur hopper motor has jammed and it is not allowing the toner to go to the developer just open the hopper motor and put it into the developer or remove the connecter attacted to the developer. it will work . there is a gear actually on the motor which breaks.

So the only sol. is to replace, if it is under warranty caontact the customer care..

The probable causes for error :

The developer has deteriorated.
• The developing cylinder fails to
rotate.
• The developing assembly is not
locked.
• The toner concentration (patch
detection) sensor is faulty.
• The developer inside the
developing assembly is faulty.
• The toner level sensor is faulty.
• The concentration sensor is
subjected to stray light (no cover,
front cover open).
• The photosensitive drum has
deteriorated.

In error code E020-0481, means that the problem is in black developer. So I would first try to replace Bk developer, check the developer station for malfunctions ( broken gears, broken developing roller bushings,... ).

toner clogging between sub hopper and developing assembly

This code refere the developing assembly locking plate.Please verify the plate mounted and the developer sensor,the toner hopper sensor or the toner hopper motor.

Toner feed error, possibly clogged up in a feed tube, or in between hopper and developer.
Will most likely need a service technician to fix.

The toner concentration sensor is faulty.
The developer inside the developing assembly is not stirred properly.
The sensor is subjected to stray light (no cover, front cover open).
The photosensitive drum has deteriorated.

Did you change the Magenta stater/ developer? A E020 code is saying that the toner desity is low. Try replasing the developer and run the ATDC for Megenta and see if that helps. You may have a problem with the developing ass'y it self. You may be able to take another colors dev. ass'y with the hopper open and see if the code goes away. The sub code 0124 means that it is the Magenta dev. ass'y

E020 is a toner feed problem to the developer. First, check for broken gears or missing teeth on all the developers. That is usually the cause.
