microsoft has a 3 year warrenty call for repair if you got it used might have expired already call microsoft at 1-800-4my-xbox and ask for the repair have your serial number ready if its expired look up the tree red light fix they sell guides on ebay cheap and they have everything you will need to self fix it

i have never heard of a problem like this, but it sounds like the console isn't loading the game all the way.

the tray doesnt stay in. does your ps2 sit on its side where the tray is sideways, or is it straight up? i think you should try rotating it to a point where it should stay shut.

There's a software glitch in game graphics data on the disk with regards to the newer console. try the game in another console.
If it plays fine. Then take your unit back to the place you bought
it and ask for a replacement if they want to check it just play the
problem game ,that should be sufficient for a in-store replacement
what's the last 6 numbers in the serial?so I can check the Batch/lot#

Hold the power button some time, the system must turn off.

place a game in console push it down and hold it wiggle back and forth until the game is flashing on and off. place another cartiridge on top of the one your holding down, make sure the game screen is still flashing on and off, then hit reset the power light should stay lit and you can play the game. this works for me everytime.

the lights on the christmas tree must interfere with the remote and sensor. we just have to make sure to turn off the tree when we play - go figure...
