Magicgate memory stick wrong format

As a last resort you could copy the full card to a computer and then delete the pictures on the card and use that again.

Here is the error list from the camera manual.
This is all I can suggest from here.

You only can use Memory Stick Duo. There is a write protection switch on the memory card, you only can switch with a sharp point. Ball point or something like that. Have a close look on the card.

So if you have a MagicGate one it does not work and could give this error.

if your 4gb memory stick are not working,i suggest format your 4gb memory stick and use. step for format it , Right click on my computer and click on manage after open manage window click on Disk management tab after few second your 4gb memory stick are display it, right click on 4gb memory stick and format, select quick format , ok after few second complete format message are display , click ok and use your 4gb memory stick.

Memory Stick Playback Features

Compatibility: The AVN5495 can only play music data recorded in ATRAC 3 on MagicGate Memory Sticks (white). MagicGate Memory Sticks and standard Memory Sticks can also be used for database updates and ESN. Memory Stick Duo must always be used with the Memory Stick Duo adapter. Memory Sticks with a capacity of up to 128MB are supported. Memory Stick PRO is not supported.

Do not use the computer to erase a memory stick. If your pics are safely on the computer and you want to completely erase the stick, use the format function in the camera.

Two things to try: 1. Get a separate card reader and use it to download the pics to your computer. 2. Take the card to Walmart and plug the card into a Kodak Picture Kiosk machine. You can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Once you safely have your pics. put the card back into the camera, go into the menu and find "format"..follow the on-screen instructions to erase and initialize the card. Everything should be back to normal.

check if magicgate in your memory stick is supported, if not...it´s an alternative MS...but you can try to format all your memory stick using your psp , PS3 or even with a pc MS card reader...re-install all ms softs...

You can delete pictures from the camera. You can transfer the pics to your computer, then delete. Plug you camera into your computer, click start/computer/ double click on the drive that accesses your camera. From here, you can drag/drop pics or delete them or format the entire memory stick. If you need all of the pics and do not have a computer, you will need to purchase another memory stick.

use only magicgate/sony brand memory sticks , must format memory stick,......Have u saved anything on it????

Either the stick is defective or the wrong format.
