Hi,
Could be a few things. Check to make sure the paddle is not sticking . It should turn freely by hand with the pan out of the machine. If it is sticking it could be the sealed bearing has failed. Check the tension on the belts. They could have loosened up and are slipping. Motor and belts are in the base of the machine.( Be sure to unplug machine when checking belts) Check to make sure the pan is properly inserted in the machine. Hank
I had the same thing, as did someone else here. The shaft that attaches to a metal plate nested inside the hub of the plastic gear has sheared through. I fixed mine by retightening the nut and then epoxying the plate to the gear. Getting inside requires that you remove the six screws on the base, and then all the screws on the perimeter of the floor of the baking area.
I had the same thing. I did exactly as Herionymus Yo did and it worked great. Though I needed to remove more screws to gain access. Definately need the epoxy. Its a bad design.
2 Tamper resistant screws on the bottom. How did you get them out?
@casckanet - I managed to get those out using a pair of scissors (one blade in each notch of the screw) without much difficulty. I had to remove a lot more screws than that though. Just waiting for the glue to dry to see if the plate is properly adhered to the gear.

Here's a tutorial on removing the cover from a B2300 breadmaker - http://ianchristie.info/?page_id=58 - I modified a straight screwdriver to remove the tamper resistant screws.
