The original psu is dead toss it. the one you are using is not powerfull enough to run the pc. check the old opne for how many watts. then check the new one. i bet the new one has fewer. so to solve problem get a psu with the same or more watts than the old dead one.

Dim green light on power supply blinking

If the Power supply LED dims and flickers its either your motherboard circuit has been cut or there is a short in the laptop. The AC adapter is not the cause.

Try this:
Remove the battery, then press power button to drain all the current, then re-install battery and plug to adapter.

If that doesn't work, then it's most likely the motherboard.

Hi, I have Acer extensa 5220 ,it is 1.5 years old...Recently a problem started that when i connect battery to my laptop(AC plug is on) the battery LED on the laptop blinks 3 times orange and turn into...

Borrow a "MultiMeter" and check the VOLTAGE and AMPERAGE output from the battery. Although it's rare for an 18-month-old battery to "die" (or to refuse to recharge), it can happen.

If you try to run the computer _only_ on the battery, without AC power, does it work? If not, replace the battery -- look on eBay for cheaper-than-Original-Equipment replacement batteries.

You have a bad power supply. It is not an expensive fix. Remember HP's take HP power supplies. When ordering either look on ebay for your model or order from part supplier.

ASUS A8JP Will Not Power On

"When the charger is connected to an AC source, the green LED shines steady and bright."

are you talking about the led on the AC-adaptor? cause if its that led that dims down, its a defective ac-adapter (even tho you still might not believe me). replace it and try again.

how would you know that the battery is fully charged?

Flashing Green Light on Power BESTEC Power Supply

This is an easy fix so here you go nice and simple:

Problem: Your motherboard circuit has been cut.

Causes: Power disconnected during operation. Power outage or short in the surge protector.

Symptoms: Flashing green light on both motherboard and power supply. System will not power on.

Solution:

Step 1: Ensure that both the power supply and the motherboard lights are flashing green, not solid or off.
Step 2: While the power is on, disconnect the power supply from the motherboard. This connection is the largest of the connections and should be listed as the 'P1' or 'Primary' power connection.

Step 3: Wait until the green light on the motherboard stops flashing and check to ensure that the green light on the power supply is now solid. If it is not solid, disconnect the power to the power supply and wait until the light turns off completely. Then reconnect, it should be solid now.

Step 4: While the power is on, reconnect the P1 connection to the motherboard and you should now see that the light on the motherboard is solid.

Step 5: Power on your PC. The problem should not persist.

Warnings: If the power supply light remains flashing after you have restored power to it while it is disconnected from the motherboard, it may be a system failure in the power supply itself requiring replacement. Always be careful when working with an active or live power machine.

I hope this helped! Good luck!
