I was just given a 6842PE sylvania tv. when i plugged it in and connected the satellite the screen is very fuzzy and has a black 1 in line straight down the middle of the screen. i can see the outline of...

the 1inch black line is either a buffer board gone bad or the ribbon cable from the plasma screen to the buffer board, the snowy picture could be many things, including y-sus, xsus or tuner boards

Sylvania 6842PE

This is a power source problem and it will need to be fixed by a pro! This is a very common problem with the Sylvania sets! (cost to fix 250.00-350.00)

Power Supply

No. They are entirely different. Panasonic was the supplier of the 6842PE and Funai was the supplier of the 6842PEM.
