Hi, I have a 61" projection tv. RCA, it's pretty old, maybe 7 years. The screen recently got cracked in it, we would like to replace it. Can you point me in the right direction? We live in a very rural town too. 96134

U had this tv for 15 years but u watches or used the tv less than 8 hours everydays?Yes,than this tv set have alot of life left in it like another 5-7 years more.Yes,if the repair cost is around $500 or less.Because u will not get that kind of screen "61 size for $500 dollars.
Replacing the screen on a 61 Inch TV is a serious and expensive process, My suggestion is look for a cheaper TV, possibly a plasma or LCD with HD. They are pretty cheap now and save tons of space compared to the rear projection TVs.

IT POWERS ON BUT IT'S OUT OF ALIGNMENT ON ALL COLORS AND MISSING THE CLOTH THAT COVERS THE SPEAKERS HAVE THE REMOTE SCREEN IS IN GREAT CONDITION ALSO HAVE SOME NEW CRT COOLANT RUBER SEALS ,AND THREE NEW LENCES THAT I WAS GOIN TO REPLACE BUT CHANGED MY MIND PLUS NO TIME.

This is a bad sign of video board backlight going to failure.Make sure u get a warrenty repair,make sure they replace video backlight board.Or exchange the tv.U got a bad IC U could call the CPU for the board.It have intermitent ground sort.U can unplug the power,replug the power,it will work,but this temporally fix only.The high power of the board will kill the IC sooner or later.
Your used TV is not worth much. Let us not fill our land fills with TV's. You may give it to a charitable oranganization (tax deduction) or local school that has an electronic course. Enjoy your new LCD you a great choice in type and brand.
