How do u get the LCD screen to act as a viewfinder? I want the LCD screen to act as the eye view finder and cand seem to figure out how to activate it

POSSIBLY THE RIBBON CABLE THAT RUNS FROM THE EVF (VIEWFINDER) TO THE MAIN PROCESS BOARD SHOULD SWITCH REFERENCE TO EVF WHEN LCD PANEL MONITOR IS CLOSED REGARDS JOHN

Look in the view finder when recording instead of the screen. if you see the image there then the unit is probably set to look through there. Many of the new units dont' have a full view finder to lens item they actually have a small lcd screen inside the view finder. Check your options for recording.

Also if the view finder is tilted you need to close that before usign the lcd.

The image will not appear simultaneously on the LCD

monitor and the viewfinder. It will appear in the

viewfinder when the LCD monitor is in the lock position,

and it will appear on the LCD monitor when fully

Your camera doesn't have "live view" which would give you the function you want.

Pls. turn the little knob near the finder untill you get clear picture inside finder, previous owmer might have turn the knob for his eye sight good luck.

If camcorder shows old recorded tapes picture with correct colors in LCD but does not show live view in camera mode to record new movie then its ccd imager chip failure.
And if camcoder shows live view and old recorded tapes in its eye piece view finder but does not show any thing in LCD the its problem of broekn/ cracked flexible wire between lcd board and main board of camcorder.

The EVF/LCD button on the back switches between the lcd or the Electronic View Finder. Basically it's a small screen acting as a view finder

Hi. No you can't shoot by viewing the LCD, only by using the eye-level viewfinder. Some SLR cameras have "live-view", which lets you use either the eye-level finder or the LCD. It really isn't a very good method of shooting with an SLR, as you first have to lock the mirror up, compose your shot, then drop the mirror back down. Using the eye-level finder also blocks out the bright light that makes the LCD difficult to use in sunlight. Hope this helps answer your question.

You hit the EVF/LCD button near the "eye hole". When this is pressed it will cycle viewing through either the optical viewfinder or the LCD screen. This display is controlled independantly on each of the modes: shooting, or viewing. This is so you can set the camera to view pics before taking them from the optical viewfinder and view pics once taken from the LCD or vice-versa.

Try pulling out the eyepiece, it will reveal a switch that controls the focus, it maybe the problem, good luck

You can only use the viewfinder. If you want to use the LCD, you need to buy an SLR with "live view." However, you'll soon get used to using the viewfinder, it's the best way to shoot unless you're holding the camera somewhere you can't get your eye to the viewfinder.
