No longer rinses or fast spins...although drum does go round slowly... My WMA 13 First Edition Hotpoint has stopped fast spin, so although the drum does go round, it does not speed up to a fast spin at all. Result is that the cycle does not actually ever finish and it just whirs around. I have tried every cycle, even "fast spin" and the drum still just goes around gently. Also, if you hit the start/stop button and the "end" light comes on, the machine whirs away continually as though it's in the middle of a wash... Machine is 3 years old and has never given me a problem before. Any help at all woud be much appreciated. Thanks, Dee

Hello there My WMA 31 washes clothes, but will not rinse or spin. It does a wash, then stops after about 15 minutes and the 'Wash', 'Rinse and Spin' and 'Final Spin' lights all...

Be sure that BOTH hot and cold water are turned on and flowing. The smell can be resolved by running washing machine cleaner (not just soap) through the machine once a month or so.

I have a wma 10 which is a couple of years old. The door seal now leaks when the machine goes onto a spin? Is there anything that you can suggest?

Sounds like there is too much water left in the drum as it goes into the spin cycle, and the centrifugal force of the drum spinning is forcing the wate past the door seal probably, needs the filter cleaning, or the door seal itself may require replacing.

Hotpoint WMA50 won't final spin, and water stays in drum

Running with a restricted water supply probably took out the pump.
The stator requires a steady water supply for cooling and lubrication. Without this accelerated wear between the stator & magnetic poles occurs.
This additional clearance makes the magnetism insufficient to spun the impellor.

Started having a noisy rinse & spin cycle, then stopped.

Open the washer door and spin the drum by hand, if it feels rough or noisy and rumbling, then the main drum bearings have failed. There should be little or no noise when you spin drum
This is a major repair, and I would not recommend a D.I.Y solution.
Other possibility is there is something in the pump, but you would only hear this when the pump is working.

Plz rate my comments.
Thanks.

Tricity bendix aw1400w will not spin

We had a similar problem, where it washed okay but didn't spin and just 'beeped' with end light flashing. When the drum was empty it was not moving round very freely.
Try unplugging the machine from the electricity. Then take top off machine off so you can see the casing outside the drum. There's a small rubber tube on top. If you disconnect that you can look through into the drum. Try turning the drum round slowly while looking through the hole. We found a sock wedged in which we managed to pull out through the hole (not easy and don't expect the sock to come out in one piece).
It worked - and we've had to repeat the procedure a couple of times now. Think I must be putting too much in the machine in 1 go, although there's always space at the top.

Hotpoint WM52 first Edition

I think you will find that if you check the brushes, you will probably need to replace them.

Washer will not spin

normally i would suggest changing motor carbons for hotpoint washers, but my experience is that the WMA motor armature is weaker than the carbons, normally if there is no connection fault a replacement motor is the answer 9 times out of 10, not a job for the amature
