This is my third LEXMARK this is x1290, but will not scan, or copy only will print.
during downloading stopped and said drivers\scan\i386 and next was that
wiafbdrv.dll. window xp home
I have looked and I cant see it I cant do anything I require work to copy stuff .
could please to help me, its brand new

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X1290 printer software on your computer. Select your operating system > download > execute the file. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.
Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.lexmark.com
Enter the model-number (X1290) of your printer, and do the search.
Select "downloads".
Select "Windows 7".
Download the device-driver.
Install it.
Print.
The Lexmark X1290 has a scan feature. The scan software/driver can only be installed using the installation cd that came with your printer. Unfortunately, it's not available for download online. If you lost the cd, you can contact Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK (1-800-539-6275). They can better assist you with request. Hope this helps. 1. Press "Copy" button.
2. Press "Options" till the display reads "Set Defaults."
3. Use the "Arrow (right/left)" buttons till the display reads "Use Factory."
4. Press "Select."

Also, let me know the error message while scanning the document.
See if you can start a scan from your computer. In your Start->All Programs->Lexmark 1200 Series folder, there should be the All-In-One Center or the Productivity Studio or some such software. You should be able to start a scan from there.
