THere are a number of problems that can cause a disc read error. The lens can be damaged or very dirty. The motor that moves the les could be stuck or damaged. The disc could be dirty or scratched. Or the disc format might not be able to be read by the player. Do you try more than one disc? Are you trying different types of discs? like store boght discs and recordable discs. Some players wont read mp3 or cd-rw discs.

CoD4 disc won't read.

how many times have you tried to play the disc?
the 360 is prone to many disc read errors, and most of the time if you just keep trying to play the disc it will work. xbox recognized the problem, and with the new dashboard update you can install games to your hard drive which minimizes the time the disk is spinning, which in turn minimizes disk read errors.

if it doesn't play, I would deffinetly try getting a new copy before sending in the console. getting a new copy is just a trip to the store, sending in the console will take a month.

Read disc error

You said the model is 77001?? is that the slim type ps2?? if it is try this troubleshooting step

if the console is lying down flat where the disc lid is at the right side, try applying pressure on the lower right corner of the lid, sometimes the lid's safety button gets worn out and it will give you disc read error if this solves the problem then the button really is busted, if you have technical background you try and change the button

Disc read error

if you bought it from wal-mart, you might have to get it fixed because wal-mart usually throws their merchandise into their truck. I mean they THROW it and dont care.

Toc error

toc error means "table of contents" error... means the player is unable to read the disc at all. May have a dirty focal lense to laser. clean gently with some windex on a cotton wool bud. It may be a faulty spindle motor that spins the disc. the bearings get worn or uneven and do not allow for disc reading to be successful. a check for this is a drop of oil to the bearing. It may then start to read discs, but will still require the motor to be replaced. . Check for the above... but if there is more required, take it to a Kenwood 'Agent... it may need a laser change

Unable to read wii discs

I had the same problem, I take it you have a modded wii(chipped), if you use a backup disc it is of a lower quality then original discs, the wii gets read errors without you noticing and tries to read those disc areas again sometimes suceeding and the gaming goes on, sometimes it fails, and a disc read error occurs. Over time the dvd assembly will take some damage it will loose it rigidity it once had and the wii stops reading discs. The problem gets worse if you have standing up, so first thing si to flip it down and try. Otherwise you (or someone you trust) will have to open the wii and adjust the lens sled so it wont flap as much up and down. Hope this helps..
