Hello, In a word, Yes. It is totally normal, when you close a door it pushes air into the unit and depending on how it is closed the other door will "pop" open slightly from the "push" of air. Thanks for coming to fixya. macmarkus :)

The best solution I have found after making sure the fridge is leveled side to side and tilting back slightly and then checking to see if anything is preventing either door from fully closing is to put a VERY SLIGHT BIT of VASELINE around the seal of the door that pops open.

New GE French door with humming noise that stops when front or sides of fridge are pressed

Personally i would call the seller and have them look at it. It is not a great concern, sounds like vibration.

One door pops open when opposite side is closed

it can as the air inside is pushed by one door pushing the other. if it popsit open and stays open, level the fridge backwards.

New french door GE fridge that won't stay cold

If " new " is less than 1 year , you will need to call GE factory service , for a warranty repair . If any one else works on it , this will void your complete warranty , and they will charge you for a service call + parts + labor .

French doors - when you close one side the other pops open especially when the door is closed hard

This is normal operation, the new units are very efficient and air tight so when you close one door especially hard you are forcing air into the inside that has to escape somewhere therefor it forces the door that is stationary open just enough for the air to escape,as long as the door closes back afterward you have no problem if the door opens and swings out, then you would have a leveling problem the fridge would be leaning too far to the front.

Maytag fridge which freezes food in fridge compartment

How to check everything
http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Refigerator is freezing food

Hi, this problem is going to be with the running thermostat. It has gone bad and stays open which in turn will keep the compressor running continually. It can normally be located in the control panel inside the fridge. Locate the thermostat and replace it. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Water build up on inside of fridge door of ge french door fridge

humid air in the house. any time you open the fridge, house air is sucked in. when you close it, the fridge cools the air and moisture from the warm air condenses on any cold surface. also check to see if there is a gap in the seal.

Fridge motor is loud when doors closed stops when open-3.5 yrs old- first time same problem fixed with replacing sensor 2/08 now sensor broken again???

the fan goes off when door opened and when closes it will turn back on is normal operation of fan and door control --as to noise --fan may be failing ---iced over ----if seal failing will cause unit to run more and allows more moisture into evap which can cause more ice over
