PE Problem My dishwasher begins the cycle then flashes a PE error. I then cannot begin a new cycle or continue with current cycle. Any suggestions?

  • Colly Pops Feb 05, 2009

I have the same problem. It still keeps flashing with the code "PE" and have no idea what is the problem. When I shaked the machine it went back to normal and washed completely. Then it comes back to square one and so on. Please advise what it means.

I found the answer elsewhere on this site - getting the PE error, with the "E" flashing. A good thump as per the link below solved the problem. The LG website doesn't even mention this error code. Washer is 16 years old though, so probably time for a replacement.

I don't know of PE as a error for the dishwasher, however stranger things have happened.
Lg has had problems with older units prior to mar 07. They have had wires breaking in the door. If you turn off the power and remove the panel. Look for broken wires and or wires stuck in the insulation. Check for continuity as sometimes it can be an internal break. Fix this and you should be good. Oh put some insulation between before closing it up .

Samsung dishwasher will only start to drain at the beginning of the normal cycle, no water, then the smart auto light starts to flash

A Samsung Dishwasher flashing the Smart Auto light indicates a Water Supply Error (Not Enough Water) has been detected by the internal electronic diagnostics.

Whirlpool adp 9411

If this is the machine with just a knob for the wash cycles, and one button to start the wash cycle, you will have to replace the timer. There is no reset that I know of.

My miele dishwasher beeps and all yellow lights flash after only 6 minutes

I have a Miele Futura from about 2011. In 2019, I had the issue were all three yellow lights, cleaning, drying, and end, were flashing, initially after a cycle was running and later, after several resets, almost immediately after trying begin a cycle. I strongly suggest watching Scott the Fix It Guy on YouTube. He shows that there are basically 3 different reasons why. 1. A leak that is tripping the leak sensor. Put the dishwasher on buckets and watch for a leak without the drip pan. If no leak, check the motor. He shows how to remove and inspect. If there is something in the impeller it will trip those three flashing lights. I did that and found no blockages and that too didn't fix it. The final source is the heater / pressure switch. So I ordered that from Miele ($75) replaced it and now it runs great!!

LG LDF6810 Dishwasher Starts filling with water then pumps water

Because you are not getting an error message, I agree that the controller card is malfunctioning. Almost everthing else would triger an error.
Recommend replacing the controller card.
