I have an ibm thinkpad t22 with a windows 7 operating system. I have a problem with the ethernet controller. How do I fix this? Can I also dowgrade the operating system as well on the T22 to vista or XP to make programs like the dvd playback work more efficiently?

I have an old IBM thinkpad that needs reprogramming..

You can use any Operating System disk (such as Linux, Windows, etc) to reload your laptop. The trick is you have to go to the IBM website (lenovo.com) and download the drivers for your system after loading the Operating System. For your laptop, it appears the ibm website is having an issue listing the drivers, but they just updated it last week so it should be up soon. I am sure if you look around the web you can find the important drivers like video, audio, and network card drivers and then by running windows update you should be able to find a bunch more. If you have an idea what Operating System you would like to use I can offer more specific support.

Good Luck,

IBM Thinkpad T22 doesn't have Wi-Fi adapter installed. you need a USB Wi-Fi adpater in other to have Wireless connection.

You can go for D-Link, 3COM,belkin USB Wi-Fi adapter. Make sure the USB Wi-Fi adapter support the Operating System you installed.

Good Luck.

IBM T22 Thinkpad won't boot up - not even in safe mode

either you have a virus or a corrupted dll file.
eitherway, beside create a bootable CD or Floppy disk, and try to fix from there, thats' time a money.
the next best thing, is to reinsall the operating system.
the other option is get a new hard drive and install the operating system on that so you can preserve the data you have on the old one.

Icons and desktop not displaying

This is most likely a system glitch. Try a system restore first, then a system repair with your operating system disc if the restore doesn't do the trick. You should be able to get into the system tools from the task manager to do the restore.

T22

Sorry, but no function key for this. This will most likely be a hard drive failure. Start by do a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the repair doesn't take, then reformat the hard drive, using a full NTFS format not the quick, and install a new operating system. If the hard drive will not format, or you have any issues during or after the install, then the hard drive has failed and will need replaced.

ThinkPad T22 will not boot to windows

I've seen several T20 series with the same problem. A CRC error pertains to a chipset on the motherboard, and the only way I've found to fix a CRC error is to replace the motherboard.
