This may be a limitation on your motherboard. please check if your motherboard supports this much capacity. If you have another pc or laptop that is about a year or two, check if they would recognize the the capacity of the drive correctly. if not you may want check with quantum about their drives.

Quantum Superloader 3 - Medium Changer missing.

If the Medium Changer is missing from Device Manager on your Windows Server 2016 system, it is possible that the driver for your Quantum Superloader 3 is not installed or not functioning properly. Here are some steps you can try to fix this problem:
  1. Check the driver installation: Make sure that the driver for your Quantum Superloader 3 is properly installed on your system. You can check this by going to Device Manager and looking for the "Tape Drives" or "Medium Changers" section. If the driver is not installed, you can try downloading and installing it from the Quantum website or from the manufacturer's CD that came with your tape library.
  2. Update the driver: If the driver is already installed on your system, you may need to update it to the latest version. Outdated or incorrect drivers can cause problems with device recognition and functionality. You can check for updates to the driver by going to Device Manager, right-clicking on the Quantum Superloader 3, and selecting "Update Driver" from the context menu.
  3. Reinstall the driver: If updating the driver does not fix the problem, you may need to uninstall the current driver and then reinstall it. To do this, go to Device Manager, right-click on the Quantum Superloader 3, and select "Uninstall Device" from the context menu. Then restart your system and install the driver again.
If these steps do not fix the problem, you may need to contact Quantum customer support for further assistance. They will be able to provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on your particular tape library model and setup.

My Ca Arcserve is showing that the quantum superload is constantly busy. I can not do anything as it also says that it is busy. I have shutdown and restarted the quantum drive a few times and all still...

power down both the library and computer, disconnect the library, power up the library. Check the operator panel of the library for an online ready status.

Not backing up

Run Quantum's DLT from the following link:
http://www.quantum.com/ServiceandSupport/SoftwareandDocumentationDownloads/Sage/Index.aspx

Understand that a bad tape will produce failed tests, so try to use a "known good" tape.
Regardless of the Pass/Fail results, the LogPages are as important, as they capture past failures and may point to the real problem.

Elem Table Bad (2B) error

The element error usually points to the drive, the best thing is to do is run the full diagnostics for the drive, and see what other hardware codes you receive, if it still points to 2b, then it is either the drive or the solenoid of the magazine failing. If you have a two magazine setup, just reverse the other magazine and test it that way.

Quantum ATL SuperLoader

If you cannot physically load a tape into the drive it is a hardware problem and the drive requires service. It is not a software problem.

Of course, the library could already have the maximum tapes it can hold. If this is the case then eject a tape from the library to make room for the tape you want to add.

I hope this helps.

Same problem with Backup Exec 10d and Superloader 3 LTO-3.
This is not my first problem with this Superloader. I think it is garbage and will likely be in the garbage very soon. Very expensive garbage unfortunately.
