have you tryed to down load the drivers anyway some times a company will put out a new printer but the drivers are the same.

what version is your mac O/S ? if it is the new 10.6 snow leopard you need to download the driver from mac site and install it, not all are out for that version. As a work around you may be able to use an HP laserjet 5 driver.
