Question about Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Camera
I had the same thing happen and by searching around for a solution today I came across is easy fix - give the camera a little "whack". It worked like a charm for me and several other people with the same issue. The issue was on this site but I can't find the exact one to link it. I hope it works for the rest of you - other people have paid the $100 to get it fixed, try this first!
If that doesn't work contact canon and see if they will honor your problem according to this advisory: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=PgComSmModDisplayAct&fcategoryid=221&modelid=10468&keycode=2112&id=48264
