You only have to make single color copies with each color CMYK
and check all the copies if only the black and white copies is smeary
then replace only the black the drum unit.
try printer a nozzle check from your printer.. most probably one of the color is not coming out.. the print nozzle check should have all the colors... Yellow , Megenta, Cyan and Black...
You can not use the copy feature if your printer is "printing". You can scan while other is printing simply because scanning is not using the printer's print heads. Therefore if you are printing, you can not copy at the same time.
Is your printer printing OK? So you should be able to copy as well. Press COPY button when the printer is ready. Basically, you have the Copy (Black) and Copy Color options. If you have 1 option only, pressing COPY makes you choose black or COlor using the keypad selector. Just choose any option and press OK or START.
Clean print head it may work properly. else
find out which color not working. replace the color ink cartridge
LC51BK Black color LC51C Cyan LC51M Megenta LC51Y Yellow
Color copiers have four drums. black, yellow, cyan(blue) and magenta. try making a copy in single color mode. make one in all the colors mentioned above. If they all come out normal and the cyan (blue) one doesnt, this could indicate a bad cyan (blue) pcu and or developer.
NOTE: The problem occurs because of the trickle development system in the machine, making extended lengths of black and white copies / prints does not allow the black developer housing to purge itself of excess waste Toner (Dry Ink) and Developer. There are two solutions for the problem:
Make 1,000 copies / prints of a black and white job, then make 150 copies / prints of full color. Continue making 1,000 copies / prints of the black and white job, then 150 full color, and so on, until the entire black and white job is complete.
Make extended jobs in groups of 100 by making 100 copies / prints of the black and white job, then allowing the machine to cycle down (return to 'Ready') and making the next 100 copies / prints. Continue in this pattern until the entire black and white job is complete.
NOTE: The above solutions are based on jobs using 8.5 x 11 inch paper, single sided, with no more than 28% coverage.
