My lg 42PQ3000 has a problem. The picture just dissapeared this afternoon but the sound continued. The remote control doesn't work except for the power button and when I try the buttons on the actual tv itself it just tells me that keylock is on and I can't do anything with it.the screen is now a bright grey instead of the black screen that was there earlier but the situation is still the same.
i have now plugged an auxillary digital set top box into the tv which automatically turns the tv to av channel and this now works but the tv functions still do not.
even though the tv works through the auxillary digi-box there are two signals at the top of the screen saying xd on over the top left and xd off over the top right and the screen tone is different on the left side to the right with a clear split line down the centre of the screen.
please help!!!

Try unplugging the power and then holding down the power button for a few seconds either on the remote or tv. I think this will reset the lcd tv. Tell me if this works.

It can't be done. The DVD remote will be single frequency for that device only and the LG remote for that LG Blu Ray (or series) only. Companies don't make cross-control between makers easy. The only exception is cable and satellite boxes to allow their remote to also control the television.

Standby light goin On/Off, means the power supply regulator board is OK. Blinking of the standby light indicates a fault. It might be to the backlight inverter board, or the main board. These blinks of standby light are called blinking codes, from the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty board inside the TV. Count this blinks. Check and repair the remote control. It sounds that it need cleaning. But lack of brightness to a Plasma screen might be to a faulty Z Sustain board. Check this for more details about the TV fualts, and to how to repair and clean a remote control.
Go to the manufacturer of the remote's web site. In the support and service area there should be a search bar. Key in 'manufacturer tv codes' it will be there.
