Re; Smeg DWD612CSS dishwasher. Please help. On setting our dishwasher to operate overnight, we were awoken by a loud bang only to find a strong rubber burning smell and the trip had blown. After investigating we found that the part no DWF 409 interface filter required replacing which we have done. Now however the dishwasher runs to the middle of its cycle and stops. The troubleshooting page of the manual tells us code E3 applies i.e.first 2 phase lights are lit and states "The appliance is not able to pump out water", but the machine is empty of water. It would also appear to be cold inside so we assume that it has not been able to heat the water during the wash. Any ideas to help with this problem will be very gratefully recieved. Pete

    Thank you.
Just to clarify we have done it correctly, am I right to assume that the red wire in the appliance connects to the brown live/phase line in from mains supply? Also that the white wire in the appliance connects to the blue neutral in from mains supply? These connections terminated on the interface filter.
    Very grateful jo

Yes, pleased to report that we have found a loose wire and now that it is connected properly, the dishwasher is working fine.
    Many thanks
    Jo

I would first look for anything that may be stuck anywhere in the machine that may be causing it to come up with an error. Possibly something that was in the dishwasher is making it think it can pump out the water even though it is draining.

I think that the code E3 stands for a heating issue so I would have a look at those components in your diswasher and see if they are working.

Let me know what you find when checking it and we can go from there to fix your problem.

Good luck and be safe when working on it.

SMEG DI612E Dishwasher not working, 5th LED flashing.

Page 39 and 40 (page numbers, not site numbering) of the manual has your flash codes, but your flashing doesn't exist. Try a reset, disconnect from the mains overnight. If that doesn't fix it, you need a service call.

Hello I got a Smeg DD612SCA7 its blows circuit breaker and makes a loud bang every time I plug it in and then a burning smell comes from inside. Any idea? Paul

You need to make sure the unit's voltage requirement matches what it is being fed to it and that the power connections are correct. You are describing a dead-short situation and will likely have a serious fire condition if you continue to attempt operation. If you are not sure, please consult an experienced electrician to help sort out your wiring. Good luck!

NO WATER COMING THROUGH ON DISHWASHER JUST LOUD BUZZING NOISE

The buzz that you hear is the water line solenoid. It probably is not opening up to let the water through. You should replace this solenoid and it will fix your problem as long as you have water coming up to the diswasher's solenoid valve.
