Olevia LCD 542I - Had the same issue for a week until the tv would not turn on anymore, after several attempts it came back on. A few days later the tv turned off then only the standby light was on, then lost the standby light as well. After researching the problem it could be in two areas, either the power supply or main board. Removed the back and found the power supply had several capacitors that were bulging on the top and appeared the fluid was leaking, all signs of a failed part, removed the PS and replaced four capacitorst that had shown some issues. If you can removed the PS and check for a number on the board, mine was FSP271-4F02, and find someone who has some electronic circuit capablilty, the issue may be resolved at a fraction on the cost of a new power supply.
@givemhall: I had this happen to my 42" after I moved. It turns out that when we were carrying the TV, the power button got pressed down too hard (it's right near where you would put your hand to lift the set) and it was stuck in the ON position. We took the TV apart and fixed the switch, then the TV worked like a charm. It's about an 45 minutes worth of tear-down, but we were ecstatic when it came back to life. Hope this helps you!
It's the main switch turned on,unplug and replug power cord

37"
We are selling our house. We moved the 37" from one room to another for a showing and then moved it back into our bedroom several hours later. IT WILL NOT TURN ON. We tried the remote and the off/on on the television set. We unplugged it and plugged it back in. It's the television. The converter box seems to be working, but the tv just sits there. This tv isn't even a year old???
We have the 42 inch Olevia. It won't turn on! If you hit the button with the blue light, the TV should come on and it does not. The blue light flashes and the TV won't come on. The TV is only 4 months old. Help, does anyone know what this is????
Thanks.
no blue light and does not turn on
My 40" Sony Bravia which I've had now for 2 years has been working perfectly. It's never been moved or tampered with in any way, and yet recently I have to switch it on with the remote twice or three times before it will turn on. It keeps turning itself off before any picture apprears, right after I switch it on.
This has only happened recently, and like I said it hasn't moved from its spot in 2 years, so no buttons have been pushed or damaged. This morning I tried three times before the picture came up, and it so far always stays on once it's switched on. Please help!!!!
my tv won't come on
