Very possible, The relay may be keeping the start windings from engaging and the compressor is overheating and tripping on it's overload. I would replace all start components. Relay, capacitor(s), and overload. This is step 1 before proceeding.

I would try replacing that overload and relay in the compressor. Your compressor may be shorted out. If it is, replacing relay and overload won't help.

We have a Bosh KIM29473GB for some time water has been collecting in the bottom tray of the fridge and only takes a few days to fill up, this weekend the freezer stopped working and now nothing works.

If you hear a click every few minutes and a buzz / click then nothing, it would sound as if your compressor is gone, the water problem is the defrost drain pipe is blocked

FREEZER quits working and if you unplug it and plug it back in will start working and work for weeks and may quit again.

If it has the control board on the door, they have been known to do that, it pressed/snapped into the door. If not and it has a manual ,standard knob on the inside, thermostat , slowly turn it back and forth to hear the clicking of the control which should start and stop the operation. If this is a self defrosting freezer and has the thermostat it also has a defrost timer that like a alarm clock shuts the unit on and off for 20 min intervals every 6 to 8 hours, this part has a little motor on it that overheats. You will be able to physically see oil comming out of it, or noisy ticking/ humming and very hot to the touch. Replace these parts and it should repair it. Good luck

Freezer is around 3 years old. When set at -17 degrees the freezer clicks very noisely, a relay operating I think. When the fast freeze button is pressed this clicking stops but the display reads -27...

In my opinion, since your going for the fast freeze mode, your freezer sets to its lowest operating temperature to fast tract the freezing process.

and about the noisy clicking sound it is probably a thermostat or relays depending on your system which starts and stop the compressor.

i think your freezer is just doing fine.

Freezer suddenly very noisy.

Hi, check to see if there is any ice that is frozen in the back top or around the evaporator fan blade. This sounds like what is going on. You may have to unplug it to remove the cover and I bet there is ice around the fan from the coil that needs to be melted away. Do this before it stops and stops freezing. It will also burn out the motor. Please keep me posted on this I am sure this is what you are hearing. If this is it, please be kind when you rate me on this. I will be here if this is not the problem, and we can go from here.
Sincerely,

Freezer seems to be partitioned. The bottom part will freeze water but the top portion will not! Seems to work well after it has been unplugged for awhile and allowed to defrost. But , the vent for both...

It sounds like you have a failure of the automatic defrost system. This system has 3 components

- timer, this device provides power to the compressor for cooling then changes to the defrost mode every 8 - 10 hours and provides power for the heater

- heater, this is located just below the evaporator and clears the frost from the coils

- terminator, this device turns the defrost cycle off and prevents over heating during the defrost cycle.

To test the components locate the timer, it is usually on the back or in front behind the kick panel; it looks like this
0fc8e4f.jpg

The white piece can be turned either by hand or a flat blade screwdriver, turn it clockwise slowly until a positive 'click' is heard. Once you hear this stop and wait, you will be in the defrost cycle, if you open the door after about 5 minutes you should hear the water sizzling on the heater faintly behind the back panel inside the freezer. If you do hear that then the heater and terminator are okay and you need to replace the timer.

If you do not get heat you will need to unload the freezer, and remove the back panel. Behind there is the evaporator and below that is the heater. You will have to test the heater with an ohm meter it should read under 100 ohms.

The terminator is clipped to the top of the evaporator and should read 0 ohms when it is cold.

FREEZER SOUNDS VERY NOISY

that because the internal fan is hiting the ice or has bad bushings you can hear the noise just with the door close because when you open the door there is a switch the one turns off the internal fan so when you close the door it turn on the fan again if you wants to hear that with the door open just open the door and push the botton swich with your fingers and you'll hear the noise
