Yes You Can Strip Top Of Motor Remove Upper Bearing Cup, Cut Pipe To Required Length, Cut All Electrical Wires (shorten) By The Same Amount,Re Do All Cable Ends As Before and Re Assemble You Are done. Note Take Photo Before Removing Wires For Reference.

Hey Chris,, you are starting a project (or wanting to) that is going to be problematic... It will be easier to go buy a new trolling motor with the money you are going to spend attempting this conversion... the newer trolling motors are so much more efficient...

probably an endura 50 would be a better fit for a potoon boat. assuming the boat is normal size. if its a smaller one then this motor might work just fine. give it a try and see if it moves you about fast enough for your taste.

you can use most trolling motors in salt water, just make sure that if you do, you attach a self sacrificing anonde to the housing to prevent corosion.
