Question about Sony VAIO VGN-S460 Notebook
My almost 3-yr old Vaio has been fresh installed like 9 times already due to freezing or getting stuck somewhere while rebooting. The HD is making this terrible noise (or may be the fan) that I think it's starting to fail. I would like to replace the HD with my own fresh HD but I don't have any discs (esp XP OS disc) to begin with, and for some reason it always failed everytime I try to create a VAIO Recovery CD kit. I've asked Sony for assistance and they're offering me a Recovery Kit for $20 or a fresh HD from them for about $465 (what a pitiful support they provide). Anyway, any ideas on how I can initiate getting my HDD replaced? The idea of cloning the old HDD and the new one, would that work perfectly, and how? I appreciate any support on this one! -- Jojo (Email address: [email protected])
